Clean but uncomfortable stay with terrible management experience
I recently stayed at Mahajanga Residences and while the place was clean and initially seemed comfortable, my overall experience was quite negative.
First, when the power went out, they had a generator, but it was only for lights, so there was no air conditioning, which made for an uncomfortable night. The water pressure was terrible; I couldn’t take a proper shower and had to make do with a trickle from the tap. There were no mosquito nets on the beds, and I ended up with over 16 bites because the screens had holes in them.
The worst part of my stay was the management. Initially, the owner seemed sweet, but during checkout, she revealed she had never used Trip.com and didn’t believe that we had paid through the app. She screamed at us and called us liars. We contacted customer service, who were very helpful, but the owner didn’t understand how to process the payment through email and accused us of wasting her time and trying to avoid paying. She stormed out screaming, only to call us ten minutes later to say that her husband had received the payment.
Beware if you stay here—pay in cash to avoid such a horrible experience!
