Wonderful stay!
Wonderful hotel and staff, and a peaceful stay at this impressive, well-operated, beautiful property. The property and villas are extremely clean and spacious, and the customer service at this property was top notch, making an already great stay that much better!
At check-in and throughout the stay, Patricia and Tinenji made me feel extremely welcome and were really helpful in answering any questions I had. Tarsizio and Tiwonge from the housekeeping team were also both absolutely phenomenal in assisting me throughout the entire stay and taking care of all my needs, and Moses, Peter, eggmaster Robert, and all the others at the restaurant were fantastic as well. Bellman Steve was also very helpful with walking myself and my suitcases over after check-in. Great customer service by them all!

Needs improvements
Recommended by colleagues as a very good hotel, ended up being an OK'ish one with a suboptimal level of service and non-existing breakfast. Not all rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, I asked for one upon check-in, and never got it, in my 4 nights stay. The room windows didn't have mosquito nets either, and mosquito repellent (spray) disappeared from the room the day before my check-out. Room cleaning OK, but forgot to bring towels and there was no soap and shampoo (had to ask) - in my opinion, unacceptable for a US$100/night room. Had to switch rooms because of the noise from construction in the reception area, and reception having no idea how long it would last. Restaurant had very limited menu, but crocodile tail curry was great. Breakfast is less than nothing to write home about, and the quality of coffee needs massive improvement.
Safety-wise, though, the hotel is good, and doesn't feel sketchy. Not sure of I'd say there again, though. I really disliked having no mosquito nets with mosquito squads over my head for four nights.

Poorly managed great place
Ufulu has nice leafy environment, very good swimming pool and spacious room. However, service is extremely poor and the staff does not look to understand how to provide quality service. They are not personally bad or rude but there is no culture of service. My room has no shower gel, shampoo nor even a hand wash bar soup. I asked 6 time within 24 hours but none. Late evening a guy came to refill the gel and told me it is done, when I wake up in the morning to take shower, there is no gel nor soap. I consider it as cheating. I wonder to myself as if asking for a shower gel for $100/night is too much.
The breakfast is too poor in terms of options, healthy alternatives but out of all the coffee was terrible.
This hotel is really mismanaged while it could have been one of the best given its green, leafy and tranquility.

I was not very impressed with Ufulu Gardens
I was very disappointed with my stay at Ufulu Gardens. The check in was not very friendly, the main receptionist was very offhand. The room smelt of smoke/sewerage and we were not able to have a shower as the mixer on the shower didn't work. At breakfast the toast kept burning and there was no coffee. I have stayed here before and was in a much better room and the service was much better but that was some years ago! When i complained about the water at reception when I was checking out. There wasn't even an apology, the same receptionist of yesterday just took my card and that was the end of it!!!

Good, but it could have been a better customer experience
Checked in late and was given a room at the new wing. Smaller room instead of usual sitting space and bed space at old wing. Room facilities were good though TV channels were limited and reception poor. Promised hotel staff to help fix TV reception did not come. Room service food, though tasty, could have been warmer and have better presentation. Check-In was unusually slower than normal, with contact details being requested despite having been at this hotel several times. Check out was a breeze. Overall, the experience was not as usual, which is normally very good.
