Customer service fail
I called the hotel's number, and was answered by a very unfriendly-toned lady (whom I later found out was the owner) which confirmed that they had the empty room at RM150. I paid RM100 deposit via bank transfer and was told to pay the remaining RM50 at the hotel.
When I arrived at the hotel (around 9.30pm), the man at the reception had no idea who I was and what room I booked, although I had already gave all my details via SMS to the lady on the phone. I told him that the lady said I only need to pay the remaining RM50, to which he asked for my proof of payment. Afterwards, he simply gave me the key and...continued playing with his phone? I mean, the least he could do was perhaps say 'your room is at the third floor, on your right' but no. Nothing. Zilch. Not even a thanks.
We were so tired, we decided to call it a day and hit the sack. On the plus side, the room is tidy (although I am bothered by the plastic layer of the bed. Yes, they did not take the plastic off) but very poorly lit.
The next morning, I was the first person to shower and guess what? I showered with cold water because the hot shower was not (yet) functioning. Thankfully, after letting the water run for a while, my parents were able to shower with warm water.
Upon check out, NOBODY was at the reception desk We waited for 10 minutes, and still nobody came. To me, that is a very odd behaviour for a hotel receptionist. Someone should man the reception desk at all times. What if something goes wrong and a customer need help? What if there is an emergency?
I decided to not come again, left my keys at the reception, and hope for the best for anyone who wishes to stay at Silverstar Hotel Brinchang.
