Price and Location Good
Very functional room, spotless clean with everything I need. Standard twin not large but it's ok. I particularly like the air conditioning which is cool and quiet.
25 mins cab from airport when my flight arrived at midnight 12am. Two decent shopping malls nearby. One can reach Komtar tower in 3 mins walk. There're no restaurants in the hotel but eating is not a problem as there are street food and eateries around. I took buffet breakfast in Jen Hotel and St Glies Hotel nearby. Bed comfy and I had a good rest.
There's an empty jar for filling water in the lift lobby each floor instead of plastic bottle water. This arrangement is good for environmental friendliness.
Service ok. I got a room on highest floor (22/F) with good views as I requested.

Excellent location. We got locked out fm our room 2x in one day. Once in the afternoon room battery flat but at night when we returned again we got locked out. But amazingly their staff are friendly & cheerful.

This hotel lost any hope of me ever returning when they refused to accept cash to pay the $6.00 myr "Heritage Tax" at check in. They have decided to completely remove the option for guests to use cash. It is very, very disappointing to not be given the full choice of payment options. Cash is still legal tender and this hotel needs to provide ALL payments to guests.
Eventually the female clerk very begrudgingly accepted my cash.
I've been traveling full time for 12 years and have never been refused to accept a payment in cash, not even in China when I was there for a month last year.
My credit cards have been compromised many time over the years so, the less I use them for such nominal amounts, the more secure my cards are. Hence the reason I book my hotels online and pay through the booking sites.
Eventually the female clerk very begrudgingly accepted my cash.

Rare value for money hotel.
Clean and affordable hotel in the middle of George Town. Definitely value for money.
The rooms are clean with attached bathroom and toilet, reasonable size with central air-conditioning.
Guests can have buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner at Wembley Cafe, located in the adjoining hotel, St Giles.
Multi-storey free car park is available for guests.
For seniors like myself, why would I want to pay for a swimming pool, a gym and other recreational facilities?
The first impression guests remember are the check-in lobby and the frontline staff.
I stayed at the hotel many times over the past few years and always impressed by the front office staff courtesy, smiling faces and helpfulness.
I don't usually name names but this time I will.
The exemplary front line staff are Thillai, Umairah, Karthi and Eric Chua.
Thank you to the four for making my stay a happy one.
