Worse Than Budget Hotel, Poor Service & Misleading
I stayed at WOW Hotel Penang in George Town, and this is easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in Penang.
This hotel performs below even basic budget hotel standards.

❌ Poor Reception Service & Payment Issues
The front desk service was unprofessional and unhelpful.
On top of that, I was not allowed to pay using credit card and was forced to use QR payment instead, which is extremely inconvenient and unacceptable for a hotel. A proper hotel should provide standard payment options.

❌ Serious Maintenance Issues (See Photo Evidence)
The room condition is unacceptable. There are visible cracks on the wall (see attached photo), showing clear lack of maintenance.
This reflects poor upkeep and neglect of the property.

• Water supply inconsistent
• Water heater not working
• Air conditioner faulty
These are basic requirements, yet all failed.

❌ No Basic Amenities Provided
The hotel does not even provide:
• Toothpaste / dental kit
• Bottled drinking water
Even the most basic hotels provide these. This shows zero attention to guest experience.

❌ Extremely Noisy – Cannot Sleep
• Pub downstairs → loud noise at night
• Early morning external noise → unable to rest
This place is not suitable for sleeping or relaxing.

The photos online are completely misleading.

This is not just a bad hotel — it is poorly managed, misleading, and below acceptable standards.
