A corner of paradise

Simple hotel but in a beautiful area of the island. Far from the chaos of long beach. The beach in front of the hotel and the nearby ones are very beautiful and not very chaotic.
They serve cocktails every evening at the little bar nearby. The diving is excellent. Highly recommended for those who are not looking for confusion and want an authentic experience.

Like a room spoils a room

The double rooms are simple but are very nice, a lovely balcony with good views.
Now, if you're placed in a family room... Specifically No 8... You've had your stay ruined.
They shouldn't offer this lousy room.
Small, expensive, unable to lay clothes, smelling of the kitchen, with a fan 20 cm from the face, in the bunk bed, without balcony, like the rest of the rooms, to be able to enjoy the stall or dry the towel, nothing... is overwhelming.
Drying clothes inside the room because there is no balcony or room, just some high ropes over the front door.
I'm sorry, but really bad. Make sure you're not getting this family room n 8 because it's horrible.
The food very rich but scarce, the friendly staff and yes, the best beach that if you like snorkeling is great.

Breakfast and dinner very decent and cheap

We stay at crocodile rock, and on Monday the restaurant is closed. As a result, we went for breakfast and dinner at this hotel. The banana pancake was the best we have eaten since our stay ( 1 week already past!) , and last night we had chicken sautéed pasta which was also very good With a canail roast. It’s not the great kitchen, but everything was very good.

Horrible dormitory.

The dormitory was a disappointment and did not reflect the online description at all. Although the beach is fabulous, I would NOT recommend this place for solo travellers.
The bathroom was filthy (evidently not cleaned before my arrival) and I was the only one staying there.
The room smelled musty (an air freshener was put on which made me nauseous) and I found some sand in the bed, under the blanket. Lockers with locks were covered inside and out with rust.
The Wi-Fi (neither the one in the dorm nor the 2G) worked. The staff was nice enough but when I asked for assistance with these problems, they did not help me at all, but kept smiling in a funny way.
One guy even told me that 'the dorm is like this', which is the equivalent of saying that they have no interest in taking care of the dorms (but only if the expensive bungalows) and that backpackers have to adjust (rightly so, but there is a big difference between a modest dorm and a dirty one!)

Don‘t eat here :)

Only ate here and did not stay for the night. We had the BBQ dinner (each 40MYR for prawns, 50MYR for the fush) and a few drink. All of the food apart from the fish were really awful. The fish were ok but really nothing to write home about either.
If you enjoy
- cold potato to your bbq
- bad salad as a side
- water with curry powder as your sauce
- and a random piece of cake to it
you could like this place for food.
On the positive side though, it‘s only a five minute walk to Keranji beach which offers great food and good service for less money.
