A 10-star service!
The hotel is only 15 minutes by taxi from the airport and you can reach several restaurants, Gaya Street, on foot.
The rooms are decent, also considering the price. Regarding breakfast, I agree with the other reviews that it should be improved.
What really makes the difference here is the staff. During my second stay at this hotel, I only realized in the evening that I had lost my cell phone on the way from Kinabalu Park.
That is where Wilma, who works at the front desk, came into play and she truly did everything to help me find it. At 11 at night, when she was finishing her shift, she was almost happier than I was to announce to me that after contacting every place where I had been that day, she had managed to find my cell phone, which would be delivered to me the next morning directly at the hotel.
Reading this might seem like a small thing, but when you are in a country where you do not speak the language and do not know well how to get around, having a person who helps you in this way really makes the difference.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had a good stay in Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu. There were two self-service laundries with less than 100m walking distance, one in front of the hotel and one behind the hotel. With 24-hour convenience stores, mini mart and local eateries within walking distance, we hope the location of the hotel brings better value to our guests.

Everything else was good. The bed is very comfortable and aircon is cool. The staff are courteous and friendly too. I also enjoyed the breakfast. It’s simple but tasty. The location is a big plus. The hotel has been upgraded so I would recommend this to my friends.
