Lovely boutique hotel just by the riverside. Beautiful view from the suite and the room is spacious. However needs to have a plugin mosquito repellent in the room as theres mosquitoes around and theyr bugging us at night. Service is good but the letdown is the breakfast buffet. Can do better. Overall i give it an 7.5/10

Location-wise, it's slightly on the fringe from where most of the night market activities are located. Makes me unwilling to make multiple trips out to Jonker Walk especially under the hot sun. Hotel is wonderfully furnished and beautiful. Room is spacious and brightly lit with lights (that's important as I dislike rooms with insufficient lights). However, I found long hairs on the floor and mattress which indicates that housekeeping is not very thoroughly done. Overall, I still have a pleasant stay in this hotel

Absolutely lovely stay ..

The riverside location was ideal, just off the main centre for busy/noisy restaurants etc. The atmosphere was calm, quiet, sophisticated and stylish. We had a 1st floor balcony room, extremely spacious and with a huge bathroom, kingsize bed, lovely contemporary Asian furniture plus a lovely view of the 'river!!!' So always something to look at. The price was perhaps a little above what we pay on average, I think, but well worth the increased night rate. Beautifully clean and ALL staff we delightfully efficient and kind - even arranged for a lovely taxi driver to take us to the railway station nearly two hours away. I would thoroughly recommend this jewel of a hotel.
Only one negative, however. The management MUST provide small fridges in the rooms. A must for western travellers. We kept our milk (we hate creamer) submerged in water in one of the bathroom sinks .. not ideal. This has been mentioned in previous reviews so I think the management should take the comments on board and act. We chose to eat at a selection of lovely cafes closeby so cannot comment on the breakfast.
I would recommend this lovely hotel ... sooo well worth a stay. Thank you 1825 hotel and staff.

Not really to write home about

The location of this hotel is really good. You're close to everything. When booking we asked for a room with a window. We also got this but then looked against a wall. No view at all. Not fair to sell this room like this. Can skip breakfast. This one is bad and staff not really friendly. Rooms are fairly neat and clean. All metal not top experience, but sufficient

Hotel is nicely located next to the river with good view, and very close to the heart of Malacca heritage circle. Easy to explore around. It’s clean and well maintained.
The buffet breakfast menu is limited and fair
