Rumba was a real jam of a place! I was a bit concerned about the travel there from Singapore but it was perfectly organized by the staff and went completely problem free. The resort is on a beautiful beach, with each cabin having an easy access to it. Possibility for swimming, snorkling, diving, and in my case, complete relaxation in the most gorgeous setting. Food served at Rimba was really good. Overall, a super pleasant experience!

Came for the diving - pleasantly surprised by the rest!

I stayed at this resort primarily to complete my dive certification - however the other benefits that came with it were an unexpected bonus!
The rooms were of a good quality and surprisingly comfortable, considering they are located on a tropical island! The housekeeping was excellent and maintenance staff in general were very friendly and attentive.
The staff in particular were a highlight of my trip, especially the diving instructor Adam, who I spent most of my time with - he is an excellent instructor - patient, knowledgeable and clearly very experienced.
One of the areas where I was most pleasantly surprised was the quality of the food, which was not only restaurant-style quality, but with multiple courses and generous portion sizes.
The staff are a real selling point, as they have created a naturally relaxed and comfortable environment that I’m sure any future guests will enjoy!
Also there’s two rescue dogs that I made my mission to befriend, but sadly I ran out of time!
Thanks guys - it was short but a blast!

Strongly recommend staying at Rimba, a rare gem of a place!

Rimba is rare gem, beautifully situated on a stunning bay on the north end of Pulau Sibu. The team, headed by Mal and Adam, is incredibly welcoming and hospitable, attentive to guests’ needs; food is delicious and varied; the accommodation is comfortable and cool thanks to the lovely breeze which comes through the resort aided by a handy fan (thank god - no aircon, you won’t miss it!). For divers, Mal and Adam and the boat team offer a high quality diving experience, with plenty of great dive sites in close proximity to the resort. Rimba is gloriously isolated, organically blending with the forest around the bay, completely integrated with nature, so a fantastic escape whether a long weekend or a longer stay. Can’t recommend it enough.

Wonderful relaxing stay, with great snorkeling off the beach

What a wonderful stay in the family chalet. Such a chilled, beautiful place, with amazing snorkeling off their beach. Each evening I saw reef sharks in the shallows, and had an amazing night snorkeling session with one of the team.
Food was great and they catered for differing needs in our family well.
All the team looked after us brilliantly, and couldn't have done more for us.
It's not 5-star, the beach chalets are open to the air, with little more than a sheet for a front door, but we felt perfectly safe and enjoyed the stay immensely. Make sure you're there for a Saturday night bbq!
The whole family loved it, we'll be back!

Great place, awesome PADI experience for my son

Stayed at Rimba Resort, Sibu Island from 10 to 12 June while my 14-year-old son did his PADI diving course—and we loved it.
The dive team was super friendly and professional. Huge thanks to Adam for being such a patient and encouraging instructor—my son felt totally at ease and learned so much in just a couple of days.
The resort is peaceful and laid-back. Clean rooms, good food, and really nice staff. Everything felt easy and relaxing, which made the whole trip enjoyable.
Thanks again to the Rimba team (especially Adam!) for a great experience. We’ll definitely be back!
