The best hotel in Kudat

It is outside of the old town. About ten to fifteen minutes drive to pasar Kudat. Around the hotel has a few restaurants, 99 Speedmart, Mr DIY and Watsons next door. Plenty of parking space in front of the hotel.
Security wise is good. You must have the hotel card to access the lift. Emergency exit staircase is in front of the reception area. There is a guard on duty at night.
Nearly two hours drive to the Tip of Borneo due to the road condition.

Clean, affordable and has all the amenities- recommend staying if in Kudat

1st time to Kudat and Sabah so not knowing what to expect or standard of accommodation- did lots of reviews and was happy with our choice of Friendly. We drove into town and plenty of parking available at the front of the hotel. Group of 5 of us (old schoolmates of 60 years+ !) on a reunion tour! Friendly Hotel is around 3kms from the “old town” where the shops, seafood restaurants, markets and most of the shopping are although took us no more than 15 mins to get there. A straight and easy drive. Again, am glad with our choice of accommodation at Friendly – clean with amenities we needed, large bed, hot shower and local coffee shops (enough for basic meals). (I struggled to find accomm in the “old town” that met our “expectations”). We opted for deluxe rooms which were ok for us although didn’t have minibar (only available for the next higher style room on the top floor with great views of the sea but almost twice the price; we were only there for the night so were happy with our choice of rooms.) Definitely recommend staying and we would too, as long as you have a car so driving around and parking not an issue.

Lovely and new hotel. Would have been perfect. But there was a red light in the room (I think it was some sort of security box) and it was very distracting at night. As it's almost above the bed. It was covered or removed. The hotel would have been perfect!

Only soap and no body shampoo is provided. There is also only one bottled water. Also suggest to provide bath robes and smart TV to elevate the quality. Room is not sound proof so when people walk by it's quite noisy. But other than that, the room is clean, well lit and water heater works well.
