Stands out as a good hotel in a less than good town

Located right on the harbour and just outside the hardcore begging zone, this is possibly the best hotel here. Pretty modern, six storey hotel with the majority of rooms affording a great sea view. The rooms are large, simply furnished and clean. Good movie channel on the TV, plus BBC 24. Free snacks and lemon tea in the foyer is a nice touch. The hotel has no catering so you collect your breakfast vouchers and use them at a choice of three nearby restaurants. As this is a resort that primarily caters for the Chinese tourist, the breakfasts reflect that. The most western friendly one being the Borneo Rock Cafe where you get a sandwich, two little bananas and a coffee.
Staff are very friendly and helpful except if you want to check in before 3. The diving here is superb, so when we come again we would stay here again

The hairdryer is very weak. Its better for you to bring your own hairdryer if you ve got long hair.
Also, the window is not soundproofing. Its very noisy on the first floor.
If you couldnt sleep in noisy place, i bet u have to bring your own pair of earplugs or request a room on a higher level (we did request, but they didnt arrange for us)

It’s the worst hotel I’ve been to in Asia (I’ve been to 40+ countries), staff were very unreasonable and rude. They do not respect the privacy of customers, so don’t expect to have any privacy being protected. Definitely avoid this hotel. They even refused to refund the nights which were not stayed because of their stricter than 5-star-hotel policy. Totally a violation. Not even an apology, their attitude sounds like we all need to beg to stay in this place, what a turn down as a paying traveler and customer. Disrupted our travel plans and made our journey so much hassle. They do not know what service is. Totally not worth it.
