Great experience!
I went to the Hard Rock Hotel on September 1st to spend a solo day by the pool, getting some relaxing hours before flying back to the UK on the same night.
The atmosphere was buzzy as workers were finalising last details right before the grand opening, happening the day after.
Adriana, Tamara and Putin were incredible! They made my stay extra special with all sort of attentions. They made sure my level of comfort was at the highest during the whole stay, just like they did with all other guests. These guys need a raise, a bonus and a gift, in my humble opinion!
Incredible experience, honestly the best pool day I had in Malta.

Amazing experience overall! The team was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Everything was clean and well organised. We especially enjoyed the food and the excellent service, with a special mention to Margaret, who was absolutely wonderful and attentive. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We nearly didn’t stay… but we’re SO glad we did
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We nearly didn’t stay… but we’re SO glad we did!
We were initially really disappointed when we were contacted and told that our holiday at Hard Rock Hotel Malta might be cancelled. We were given various options, and we chose to move to an alternative hotel, knowing that we could still return to the Hard Rock if we wanted to.
A special mention has to go to Gabriela, who was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and made what was a pretty stressful situation much easier.
We stayed at the alternative hotel, but quite simply, it wasn’t what we had signed up for. It wasn’t the Hard Rock experience we had been looking forward to, and it didn’t compare to the experience we’d had on previous Hard Rock holidays.
So… we went back to the Hard Rock!
We visited the hotel, saw the room/ Rockstar Suite we could have, and decided that, even though the hotel wasn’t 100% ready, we would rather be there.
And honestly? We are SO glad we did.
We met the owner and the GM, who were both incredibly understanding of our situation and genuinely apologetic that the hotel wasn’t quite at the standard we would have expected at this stage. We also met Lorraine, Director of Rooms, who was fantastic and made herself available to us throughout our stay. She was genuinely interested in our feedback and wanted to hear what could be improved.
And there were a few things!
Our Rockstar Suite was absolutely stunning, but we did have some issues with the bathroom and the pool. We raised these with Lorraine and the team, and they took them on board. More importantly, they genuinely listened to our feedback, which we really appreciated.
But for us, the absolute star of the show was the staff.
Everywhere we went, the team were friendly, welcoming and genuinely lovely.
The reception team were fantastic. The team at Sessions were brilliant and made such a fuss of our children every time we went in. The pool bar team were also amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble. We particularly loved all the complimentary water, fruit and non-alcoholic cocktails. Such a nice touch!
And then there was Jelena and her Kids Club team. ❤️
Our children absolutely adored Jelena and her team. They wanted to spend most of the holiday in the Kids Club and were so lucky to receive so much attention and care from them. It was genuinely lovely to see how much they enjoyed it, and we are incredibly grateful to Jelena and the whole team for making their holiday so special.
We were very honest with Lorraine and the team about what we felt could be improved and what we would love to see in the future. And we really felt that they listened.
So, the honest answer…
Is the Hard Rock Hotel Malta 100% ready yet? No.
There are still things that need finishing, improving and bedding in and building works happening.
Would that stop us from going back? Absolutely not.
Because what they DO have is something really important: a fantastic team who genuinely care.
They listened. They responded. They tried to fix things. They wanted our feedback. And they clearly want to make this hotel the best it can possibly be.
We could have stayed at the alternative hotel. We chose not to.
We chose to come back to the Hard Rock and we’re genuinely so glad we did.
We can really, really see the potential of this hotel. The Rockstar Suites are stunning, the facilities are impressive, and with a little more time to get everything fully up and running, we think this could be an amazing hotel.
A huge thank you to Gabriela, Lorraine, Jelena and every single member of the Hard Rock team who looked after our family.
It may not be 100% there yet… but the Hard Rock spirit is definitely there.

Had a great time at the bar next to the lobby area, amazing cocktails from the bar man Santiago...... Can't miss a special mention to the kenyan girl miss Magret... I think the assistant manager..... Very friendly and was very welcoming.... Well done to the team n see you soon!!!

Has potential but failed at first hurdle
This hotel has potential however has let its self down by opening before ready.
We booked via booking.com after their best priced direct guarantee failed. Neither booking.com nor the hard rock website mentioned that the hotel was not complete.
When we arrived there was construction still taking place, rubbish in the lift hall ways, dust everywhere and half the facilities were not open including rooftop pools and restaurants.
Health and safety was not a priority, with fire doors wedged open! And a very hot hose pipe filling the pool, when I placed my hand in front of it I nearly got burnt.
Our room was lovely, we could not fault that however our sleep was let down by late night and very early morning construction taking place.
Food was very average with chips being cold and meals generally overpriced.
Upon check in we were informed that they would be taking a 400 euro deposit (hold on card) for 100 euros per night, this was not stated anywhere during booking and quite frankly is a ridiculous thing to expect.
Signage was awful and we actually walked around the mall for 15 mins looking for the entrance of the hotel.
The only thing that kept us there was the fact that the pool that was open was nice, room was lovely and the staff were excellent, we only encountered one issue with staff and that was when we were persistently followed from the pool to the toilets asking if we were coming back to pay our bill. This was embarrassing and uncalled for considering their only toilets close to the pool are in reception.
We have to say a special shout out to Emily at the pool and the bar manager who were absolutely brilliant with their service and genuinely made us feel welcome and looked after. In fact this extends to all of the staff in the hotel, big well done on that front.
A pity, as the hotel has such potential however due to opening far too soon they have not hit the mark. We paid over £1000 for four nights with no breakfast package and it was sadly not worth it.
