3day escape for couple

We originally booked through Lastminute.com, but our initial hotel was no longer available and we were offered Marea Boutique Hotels as an alternative. In the end, we were very pleased with the change.
We were given a door code upon arrival, which made check-in simple and convenient. Our room was lovely and quiet — we slept like a log! The bed was very comfortable, making for a really restful stay.
The location is great. It’s only a 10–15 minute walk to the Sliema Promenade, with plenty of small shops nearby. If arriving from the airport on the TD3 bus, it’s best to get off at Ferries 3 (Torri or Chalet stops are also convenient). From the promenade, helpful landmarks to find the hotel include Busy Bee café or Marks & Spencer.
We purchased a 4-day bus pass using Tallinja upon arrival at the airport, which was very convenient. The Dmiche bus stop for the local 21 route is just a 4-minute walk from the hotel (though we weren’t entirely sure of the full route details).
The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit repetitive, but perfectly fine for a short stay.
One small suggestion: it would be helpful to provide a dishcloth for drying the plates, cutlery, and cups supplied in the room.
Overall, we had a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Overall the accommodation was ok. Very basic in terms of amenities but we were out most the time so wasn’t an issue for us. We arrived earlier than check in and was able to leave our luggage but we had to leave them in an unlocked cupboard under the stairs. When we got there it was only our luggage in there but when we collected the luggage after returning, there were multiple guests bags in the same unlocked cupboard. Nothing was taken from our bags but I think the luggage should be stored in a safer place. The room appeared to be clean but both myself and my partner got bed bug bites from staying here. We originally thought they were mosquito bites but they’ve been confirmed as bed bug bites. On that basis I would not book to stay here again.

Fabulous stay

Fabulous hotel in a great location. We stayed in the Presidential Suite for 5 nights and it did not disappoint. Fantastic terrace, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly. We will definitely book here again when we return to Sliema.

We enjoyed our stay. Hotel is nicely refurbished and very clean. Despite being on the first floor and overlooking the street our room was peaceful and comfortable. We appreciated the Nespresso machine, microwave and fridge. Convenient location both for Sliema coast and St Julian’s bay. Like most hotels, there are too many cushions on the bed.

It’s a nice hotel. Away from the seafront so quiet. We didn’t see many staff so can’t comment. Our room was very clean and serviced everyday.
One problem we noticed other guests don’t shut the front door properly. Almost every time we came back the main door was unlocked.
