Lovely
Lovely stay clean and very central had an issue with electricity and was sorted extremely quick,would recommend for a short stay.

excellent location, decent price
The good: Excellent location, very good communication channel with the host (phone, viber, whatsapp) and a very responsive, helpful and accomodating host. Also, the price is decent.
The bad: the cleaning was superficial and the appartment (San Gwann) is not really suited for a family of 4 with 2 teens.

Loved my time here, once I accessed the suite
Locating my accommodation Jean de Valette Boutique Living was a challenge. It is a recently renovated palazzo on Merchant Street. A point to note is that the house numbers do not necessarily run sequentially, making finding numbers a bit of a lottery.
Success, building found…. but the code I was given didn’t work to access the front door. By luck someone hadn’t secured the front door properly so I was able to gain access. My heart sank when I opened the heavy door though and lifted my case up a high step into a tiny foyer because I was faced with stairs. They are narrow, darkish, steep and slippery marble. YOU NEED TO NEGOTIATE THESE BEFORE YOU GET TO THE LIFT THE BUILDING HAS to access the upper floors. No mean feat with a suitcase, and mine was on the smallish side. What I found interesting was in all the reviews that I read about the property no one mentioned the stairs. Perhaps the people who stay or do follow up reviews are young and agile. I’m older but not decrepit. I think it’s important because there is no one on site to help you. This accommodation would be unsuitable for people with mobility issues.
My next surprise came in the form of the room I had been allocated, this wasn’t the one I had booked. I don’t think there was a great difference between the rooms but I had booked Gallariji Suite (5th floor) and was placed in the Festa Suite (2nd floor). I found out via a text after I had messaged to say I had arrived as required for check in.
I’m at my front door, the keys are in the door but I can’t get the door open. The door tongue is sticky. Three phone calls later and an unsuccessful attempt at a video call to me on WhatsApp, I finally access the apartment. I had almost resigned myself to sleeping in the corridor to the apartment and sorting the problem in the morning. My contact person in Malta was Michelle, but the initial call went somewhere else before it was re-routed to her in Valletta.
The Festa apartment is a large open space with a kitchen on one wall, the dining table along another wall, the rest of the space is given over to a bed, desk and wardrobe. A TV is on the wall.
The kitchen is equipped with crockery, cutlery, fridge, kettle, oven, stovetop and toaster. It also comes with a few starter teabags, coffee sachets, sugar and little long life milk tubs.
The bed was comfortable, the mattress good and there was a choice of pillows from very soft to firmer. Beside the bed are bedside tables with lamps.
In the left over space are a couple of armchairs and a sofa, maybe the sofa converts to a bed? I’m not sure about that.
Off the main room is the toilet and vanity basin and tucked behind the sleeping area is a large bath with a hand held shower. The bath might cause access problems for non-nimble people because its quite high. I’m rather short and had to be careful getting in and out, so as not to slip. The issue I had with the hand held shower was it was almost impossible not to wet the floor. The wall in the bathroom is showing signs of bubbling where the plaster has got wet from the shower. Bathroom supplies consisted of shampoo and body wash, toilet paper, shaving mirror, hairdryer, hand towels and large bath towels. No conditioner or tissues. There is a large mirror in the bathroom for dressing purposes.
The property has a couple of windows which you can open a small amount, if you don’t want to use the air conditioning.
I found the suite comfortable, quiet and enjoyed my stay at Jean de Valette Boutique Living once I had worked out the door latch.
My host Michelle arrived the morning after my evening arrival to collect the city tax, which is half the price of places in Italy.
There is a Spar Supermarket, which will cater for most of your needs. It is on the corner of Triq San Gwann and Republic Street, at the end of the Co-Catherdal Square. There are a few restaurants and bars scattered in fairly close proximity to the accommodation.
It is possible for the accommodation to store your luggage but you need to advise them of this need. It is in a locked room but as I said no one is onsite, so its an honour system.

Excellent location
Great property in an excellent location in Valletta, in the historic center and a stone's throw from the bus station with which you can get around the island. Our studio apartment was Barakka. Clean and spacious. Also excellent communication with the staff. Despite there being no one in the structure are always present and friendly. Definitely recommended. See you next time!

Apartment 11 penthouse with Jacuzzi and non working Sauna
The positive is the location! Space is great for a city centre apartment. Loved the jacuzzi and the views from that bathroom. Nice to have a terrace with some outdoor space.
The negatives are that the apartment needs some TLC. It is just a bit grubby, looks tired, furnishings are stained or bleached or torn. The towels were not white and fluffy, more grey frayed and with holes. Stains on furnishings and furniture. Grouting in the bathroom looked a bit grim, shower head needs descaling, it goes on and on like that. Sauna would not heat up. TV only works with your personal Netflix account. All in all, just everything was disappointing
The 2nd night of our stay was awful there was a loud intermittent buzzing sound like an idol motorcycle, but kept us awake all night, sent a message to our host who didn't see it until the morning and therefore not resolved.
Sent a complaint, and they haven't even acknowledged it. I think that's awful customer service and therefore would NOT recommend.
