Escapezzzz this apartment hotel!!!!!!!
We booked this apartment hotel to spend a week in Marrakech it was the worst choice I could make. Upon arrival the welcome leaves to desired we are assigned our apartment it has nothing to do with the photos on the booking site. A foul smell escapes from the bathroom it lacks a blind in the main room which forces you to get up early in the morning!!! The bedding leaves to be desired an old sheet not even at the size of the bed serves as a duvet. No wardrobe to put our clothes on requires placing them on a sofa. Traves are in progress next to the hotel which makes fat mornings impossible. We must share the towels because according to the words of the housekeeper and the girl of the reception (pregnant) the owner refuses to give more... there were days of rain in Marrakech our apartment was flooded it was the cross and the banana to join there reception!!! The pregnant receptionist is not even welcoming spends her days on her own and does not even respond to our requests.
We had to leave the hotel earlier, it became unlivable. We asked to speak to the person in charge but to no avail. According to these two ladies mentioned above she does not pay attention to customers. I am amazed if by chance Mrs. the owner of dar gueliz you read this message do not hesitate to contact me because I would like to clarify these grey areas!!!!!

Beware! Staff snooping in your room when you're out
Stayed in Ambre apartment. We loved the size and the way it is arranged... but there are a few small things that would not cost much to make it a tiny bit better. BEWARE staff go snooping in your room when you are out. One day as soon as we left, one of the receptionists went in. She spent a long time going through the fridge (we had cooked food in there). She was also trying to open an aluminium container (anyone who lifted it up could tell immediately it was empty, but she was trying to open it. Why?). In one bedroom she opened the chest of drawers to see what was inside and left them open.
One day one of the receptionists telephoned the room to ask if I wanted housekeeping. She came up with the cleaner and a man. She and the cleaner walked in and she started moving the dining table and took a chair without telling me what she was doing. I had to ask. All this is happening with the door open and the man standing at the door. When she called she didn't tell me all this and to make myself descent. Beds comfortable. Bedding very clean. Good wifi. Air conditioning in one bedroom wasn't working. Although it took them 3 days to fix it we asked and got a small heater for the room. But even before it was fixed we were asked for it back because they were cold at reception. We didn't because obviously we needed it. Couches clean. I was impressed. There were no cups or mugs. Not sure how they expect you to have your coffee or tea.
No English channels whatsoever on the television. Do they not expect English speaking guest? I don't really watch TV on holiday but it's nice to catch up with the news especially when having dinner. Large balcony. OK views. Although in the pictures you can see patio furniture, there was none. Not inviting as doesn't get cleaned or swept. The railings are so dirty you cannot hang clothes on even though we tried to clean it. Lots of light fittings but many bulbs missing and the ones that works are very dull/dim it made the apartment uninviting and claustrophobic.
A bulb in the kitchen wasn't working, asked for them to change it. After a few days nothing, had to ask again. After 11pm one night someone telephoned to say they can change it now or before 8am next morning (after 11pm? That's shows no respect. AND who wakes up before 8am on holiday?). Mustafa came after 11pm with the wrong bulb. It never got changed. We had to cook using our phone for extra lighting as the one that works was to far away from the hob and very, very dim. I am very sceptical about any good reviews about Mustafa as he is rude and very unpleasant. He pointed to the light in the reception corridor and said, "Look one light." He made up his mind that he wasn't going to change the bulb. He said "Guests don't complain." Unacceptable response and behaviour just to replace a bulb.
One roll of toilet paper for 3 days per apartment. One towel each for 3 days. Bedding not changed or asked to be changed in 10 days. Curtains disgusting. In one bedroom it was just hanging over the door so every time we open the door it falls down. In the other bedroom the smaller one was horrible. Advertised as having toiletries. The only thing that was provided was a tiny bar of soap and two tiny 15ml bottles of something in the shower. We couldn't tell what it was. We used it to clean the toilet bowl. Shower head hanger broken so had to always hold shower head in one hand, hence difficult to wash your hair and give scalp a good massage. Two people cannot take a good shower, you have to wait for the water to heat up for the next person and that can take an hour or more. No hangers provided.

The room was large with plenty of space, but it was dirty in the bed area. The Wi-Fi went out during our stay, and there were no instructions on how to use the TV.

Towels seemed unwashed (didn't smell cleaning product at all, instead smelt like someone used it shortly before).
Awaken around 9am by very loud noises of furniture being pushed around (by staff doing another room I assume). Don't expect to sleep late in that hotel.
Wall electric plug ruined, bathroom trash bin broken, stains on armchairs. These are easy fixes, why not doing them? I can't comprehend the mentality behind such neglectful attitude.
For this price all of the above is unacceptable.

So uncomfortable many problems
Such an uncomfortable apartment.
The Wi-Fi was not working for the fist 6 hours of our arrival. The tv was not working it was sorted at first by a technician. But through out the evening it kept losing signal. I have provided the pictures showing this.
There are lots of problems with the apartment the bed is so uncomfortable because it’s so hard. When I spoke about this all I was given was a cover to put over the mattress.
The sofa was so uncomfortable it is like a park bench covered in material, we where unable to relax comfortably.
The balcony is covered in pigeon faeces and pigeons are nesting on the Air-con unit. We were not able to use the balcony due to this and the tiny size of it. The balcony also doesn’t lock I have taken videos of this.
The fridge in the apartment was not keeping our food cold and there was ants everywhere on the fridge and in the kitchen.
There was wires hanging out of sockets and the lamp in the living room was hanging off.
There was no dining table in the room and in the description of the apartment it stated dining room table. I brought this up and later they put a dining room table into the apartment.
I was not happy with the apartment. I don’t believe it matches the description of the advertisement and I was not able to relax with the uncomfortable furnishings.
I felt the manager made no attempt to meet me or offer us a different apartment. He should no a professional approach to us as guests and didn’t even introduced himself to me.
The shower head is not fixed to the wall so you need to hold the shower head when showering this causes more water splash on the floor.
When I finished having a shower I went to get out and the water caused the wooden shower tray to move. I lost my footing and slipped with loosing my balance. I then slipped on the wet shower floor and fell hurting my back.
This was enough for me. It put me over the edge I was so upset I could no longer stay in this apartment so I checked out.
This is my vacation I am not being held to ransom by this complex having me staying in the hotel apartments by then refusing to refund me my stay.
I cannot and will not stay in an apartment that I’m not able to relax and feel comfortable and safe. I strongly recommend staying away.
