Very difficult to give a score to

Let me start with what’s great about this riad. The top terrace and pool are just beautiful. Lots of space to sit in sun or shade in comfort. The pool was perfect. Riad spotlessly clean, and staff welcoming.
Not so good: breakfast was tired dry bread, however there was a nice home made yogurt and tiny fruit salad. No black tea available.
On returning back in the evening after dinner, at approximately 10:20 pm we were asked to pay, out of the blue, for our accommodation. That was fine but surprising at that time of night. Why not do this when we first arrived, in the afternoon? What was worse was that we were told it had to be cash as the card machine wasn’t working. Conversations ensued including the staff member talking to a “ manager” on the phone. Eventually the machine that we were told wasn’t working, miraculously was made to work (!!!) and we paid by card.
Poor: Despite several requests by email for information on transfers etc. over the days prior to arrival we received not a single response . Not one. Not even an acknowledgment of our messages.
Our “ superior” room was painted completely in black, including the ceiling. It was like sleeping in a coffin, as it was completely oppressive. Even with all the available lights switched on it was just so dingy, despite the room being clean.
So, there were some nice positives here but the negatives sadly outweighed them

Credit card payment is obviously possible any time at RIAD HERMES. We apologize for this interruption of service for a few hours.
Breakfast consists exclusively of fresh products prepared by the chef cooker. We will provide more precise control over the quality of the bread.
You have booked a classic room and we had the pleasure of upgrading you to a junior suite, "black diamond", which is the most beautiful room in the hotel. Indeed, the room is decorated with autentics materials dark colored lime. We are really sorry that you did not like the atmosphere of this room.
We apologize again and we hope you will sure have any pleasure another time in Riad Hermès.

A perfect stay in the heart of the medina.

We had an excellent stay at Riad Hermès. The location is ideal, right in the center of the medina, which makes it very easy to do everything on foot. The owners are incredibly kind: both very available to advise us and absolutely discreet. Special mention for the breakfast, a true homemade delight every morning! I wholeheartedly recommend it 100%.

Central and fabulous

Riad in the center of the Medina, close to the main market but very quiet.
Friendly and helpful staff, they have drivers to / from the airport and private excursions (we booked the one of the 3 valleys and we were very happy).
Superior room spacious and spotless, daily linen change.
The breakfast was excellent.
We booked hammam.
The dinner was the best in Marrakech, you have to book in advance and
I recommend booking the full menu.
