Gracious Host at Maison D’hôtes!

A quiet respite off the main drag of Nkob. A short walk to the oasis. The owner Lahcen, was a one of the most gracious hosts we have met in Morocco. Breakfast is included, but just ask and his wife will cook a delicious dinner for you as well! Lahcen speaks only Arabic and French, but we used translation apps to communicate well enough. The room & bed were comfortable. The rooms surround a lovely courtyard. The hotel is off a side street, so don’t let the dirt street fool you. I highly recommend this hotel!

Cute place, great host

stayed here on our way to Merzouga and had a lovely stay. It was December and cold, and the rooms had no heating, but we had lots of tea and extra blankets so were nice and warm all night. The owner was very nice, and he provided us with a home made dinner that was very good. He used to be a trek guide, so if you want to trek, contact him in advance. The morning after he gave us a tour of the village and the Palm oasis which was very interesting. If you are driving through, stop by and stay, great little place!

Lovely homestay that aims to please

Ahmed is the proprietor of Ait Hmid and was extremely welcoming when we first arrived. He offered us the opportunity to watch a traditional Moroccan meal being prepared and also gave us the chance to dine with his family. Both were very pleasant experiences and we would definitely recommend them, if you have the chance!
Regarding the physical establishment: the rooms are pretty and clean, and the bathrooms actually have doors - what a pleasant change from the standard curtains! The showers have hot water (slightly difficult to regulate between scalding and cold) and LOTS of pressure! The hotel has a lovely courtyard with a beautiful fruit and flower garden in the centre. Ahmed even offered us fresh dates off the tree!
I wish we could have stayed a little longer, but we had to leave the next day to honour other reservations we had made.
Other establishments would do well to aspire to achieve such a level of standard.

Super hospitality and wonderful family!

Coming back from a 3 day trek in the mountains, all the hotels and restaurants in N'Kob were closed because there was no water in the whole town. But our guide had a friend at Ait Hmid and they offered to take us in for the night. The stay was really a special part of our trip! We were served a meal in the courtyard under the starry night sky, got like 6 blankets to keep our warm in the cold winter, they give some of their last water so that we could shower and wash our dusty clothes, and even took us to the bus in early sunrise. Strongly recommended!
