Warm and human experience

A very beautiful discovery to start my Mauritian vacation! Patricia, Yan and the whole team are very kind and helpful in assisting and advising us peacefully. I really appreciated the quietness of the place, the ease of access to Port-Louis by bus, and the atmosphere of this beautiful, human-scale villa. The plus: a relaxing view facing the sea with the independent bungalow…

Very weak wifi. No hot water. Terrible shower pressure. Breakfast wasn’t bad but not great either. No elevator so difficult for large language. Beautiful villa but just missed the mark for me.

It's not what it looks like.

Upon arrival at the accommodation, we were deeply disappointed by the location. The description mentioned a beach and beachfront setting, but the "beach" was merely a pile of rocks separated from the hotel pool by a high fence and a chained gate, with a view of oil tankers. To the left of the property, there was a tiny, three-meter-long stretch of sand with a sign advising against swimming. The accommodation is located in the suburbs, far from the city center, with no sidewalks, walking areas, or restaurants nearby; the nearest shop is a 20-minute walk away. We immediately contacted Booking.com to request a cancellation and also spoke directly to the owner. We offered to pay for the first night—or two out of the four—and leave right away, provided we could get at least a partial refund to book alternative accommodation. The owner rejected all our proposals and stated she would not refund any of the amount paid. Night fell while we were trying to reach an agreement, so we stayed the night and left the following morning. The pool looks nice in photos, but its cleanliness is questionable. The rooms are large and spacious but in need of renovation. Breakfast is very meager.

I enjoyed my stay. I was upgraded to a two bedroom accommodation on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. They can provide dinner at a reasonable price, which is good because there are no restaurants nearby. They were helpful in arranging a taxi for me into town and to my cruise ship.

I had a wonderful stay at Villa Anakao. Staff members Yan & Romeo were very helpful and accommodating. Relaxing location. And the food was always good, and hearty breakfast too. Would love to stay here again.
