A real opinion
The arrival:
The receptionist greeted us with a smile, I do not remember his name but he welcomed us warmly, it was not yet time for our check-in so we could wait in the green areas in the bunkhouses.
The room:
Everything in order, clean sheets and towels, everything in operation: air conditioning, coffee maker, hot water, hairdryer, plugs, lights. A wonder. Super comfortable cushions and mattress.
Just a small observation, sometimes the noises from the door of the cabin downstairs were heard, but we understood that from the construction you could hear.
Kayaks and paddle board:
You can use them from 6am-6pm if I'm not mistaken, there's always someone very friendly who gives you the vest and helps you get into the kayak, I don't remember his name either but I took a picture haha, super friendly.
Breakfast and amenities:
You can decide where to have breakfast either in your room or in the gardens, and every day your waters, soft drinks and beers refill in the fridge.
NAVI motorbike:
With your biker license you can ask for it, I highly recommend it as Bacalar is small and very safe, they lend you helmets.
Just a small observation, they should have the gas bikes full ⛽️ that time they only had 2 to lend, and several stops so we had to wait for the other guests to return.
Jet-ski and boat:
Activities at extra cost that next time we will take, the boat takes you to see several cenotes within the lagoon route as well as the pirate channel.
Staff people:
Everyone super friendly, from the gardener, bartenders, receptionist, everyone has that helpful attitude, and more than anything that is what invites you to return to this place. (Give a raise to the gardener who spent many hours leaving the grass pretty )
I recommend it 10000%, the beauty of this place plus the friendly treatment of everyone make it my favorite place, my partner and I left wanting to stay longer, and for the first time a place catches us like this.

Disappointing
Disappointing! The first day we arrived we were told that the bikes could not be used and the day before I asked them on WhatsApp and they told me that it was available. Then I eat them a real piece of crap, cold unflavored eggs, a ham and cheese cake of the cheapest, beans, tortillas (pure carbohydrate) and every day the same. There was no change of options. Then in the room I smelled like sewers most of the time. There were cockroaches in the room, in fact I woke up one on the pillow sleeping and from that I could not sleep.
I would never recommend this place.

Awful.
Don't get fooled, motorcycles or scooters are actually not available, they promise you a motorcycle or a scooter per room, I rented 2 rooms, and when I asked to have my 2 motorcycles or scooters, I was told "sorry y'en plus" with Google translation of course, because no one speaks English, they just say yes yes yes but in reality, they do not understand when you speak, you have to use the translator to make them read from English to Spanish.....
But yet vehicles were present outside but not for us???
Then the Breakfast, What a laugh, they call it a breakfast, but in reality, already to start you have no choice of hours, we bring you a small tray at 9:00! impossible to have this so-called breakfast earlier if you go on a visit, but the worst thing is that in addition to being prepared in an old mechanic garage full of raspberries that I saw in the morning looking for an employee, this so-called breakfast, is none other than a piece of bread, a slice of ham and 4 slices of banana with 2 spoon of yogurt... that's all! And absolutely infective we were 4 people in 2 rooms and believe me people only eat breakfast once.
Kayaking available is broken, missing the seats, so impossible to kayak properly
And finally, it is not a Hotel at all, it is in fact only a private property whose owner has built himself cabins certainly himself in view of the malformation of construction.
Besides, the biggest surprise was the first rain of the first day of our arrival, in room Number 4 yet on the ground floor, no less than 5 water leaks began to literally flow from everywhere as soon as it rained. we had to use garbage cans, then the suitcase my daughter was totally soggy, damaging all these things containing her laptop, and her study belongings.
But yet vehicles were present outside but not for us???

Beautiful views of the lagoon and great staff
This was our first time in Bacalar and always nervous about booking online but it lived up to the its description and more. Right on the lagoon with kayaks and paddle boards for free. nice swimming area. Good restaurants within walking distance. Staff friendly and easy to find. Best was breakfast served each morning on the balcony right outside our room. Will definitely come again.

Bad experience
the hotel is a fraud, they sell it as exclusive but the reality is that they are wooden cabins that are about to fall, you hear everything between rooms it seems that you are camping of the little privacy you have, the bathrooms of the rooms smell of drainage there is no noise insulation, the door of the entrance to the room did not close, the entrance to the lagoon is very slippery, the Service that they offer food if it rains is suspended and you go without food as the taxis also stop giving the Service, so either you take food or flat out you do not eat, but the place is not the most disappointing, the Service by the staff is deplorable, they are rude, arrogant and with very little empathy with the guest, they care little about your comfort or that you have a good memory of your stay, especially the manager or receptionist Roberto I had a very appliance fall the day I arrived and they did not have even emergency kit, they gave me some gauze wet by rainwater because they got wet and it was all they had to stop the bleeding on the foot, the only salvageable thing of the place are the views, but obviously that any other hotel on the lakeside
