Everything was clean, the staff was really helpful and the view to the catedral was awesome. The only thing I didn’t like was the temperature of the room, it was too warm.

Bad Service
Afternoon, we stayed at HOSTEL mundo joven cathedral in Mexico City where we found Mr. Oscar, he was super kind to us, pity that the rest of the attention of said establishment was not, several disagreements were presented as to:
Friendliness: the ladies at the front desk at the check in and chke out were not very friendly and do not provide the full information of the hostel.
Breakfasts: every day was the same, watermelon, pancakes, bread, cold drinks except for one day they only gave eggs, should have variety.
Lobby women's toilets without toilet (annex image).
Obstruction: they do not have a cellar space to store beds and other elements of rooms as they leave them in the lobby and in the restaurant area of the second floor reducing the space for guests and giving an inadequate image to the hostel (annex images).
Room toilet: there is a sign indicating that if you want to change the bed should be left free of objects and towels on the floor, the last day were left like this but did not change them, I do not know if it is the last night of stay do not do it but if so should be clear in their rules since in the indications is not specified that detail.
Noise: in the early morning you hear all the algarabia and noise that it makes by the angry people who leave the terrace since it is not only enabled for guests but also for the public (bar 6 floor).
Additional on the terrace of the 5th floor is the smell of consumption of psychoactive substances (marijuana).
Mr. Valentine orders guests to go to sleep when in the lobby.
I hope you take ALL THESE INCONVENIENCES OR DISCONTENTS into account to improve your place of stay.

Convenient location at the Zoco Road, but can get loud
I booked my first days and last days of my trip a few weeks in advance, but my itinerary changed so I had to find an extra night and reserved mundo because of its great reviews thankfully it wasn’t the weekend of day of the dead, but it was leading to it so my experience may have been different from a non festival period. I may consider returning when it’s slower.
The pros
It’s right in the heart of the Zócalo and close to the metro station. Having breakfast available and included was a plus adequate seating downstairs and I didn’t realize there was an upstairs section dining as well and had to share a table. The welcome drink was a nice gesture. Next time I may consider returning for a longer stay. Like most hostels Dropping off luggage or having luggage stored while waiting for your flight is useful.
The cons
I was on the fourth floor woman’s dorm. It was really hot and the ventilation was really poor. I immediately had to open the windows to air out the place however at night being in the Zocalo it was really busy, especially October leading to day of the dead. It felt like a sauna with the windows closed and late October so I was wondering how people can tolerate during the warm hot months when it’s 15 or 20° warmer.
I later learned from another lady who stayed there that there were fans in her room. She actually first stayed on the first floor, where she complained that it was too noisy, and she had moved to a different floor.
I quickly opened the windows back after having them shut for two hours, but then the government workers were sanitizing the ground getting ready for a day of the dead—at 2am!!! Even with my earplugs on they don’t cancel the noises completely so it is still very loud. Then someone decides to be very considerate and takes a shower at 4 AM. My bunkbed shares a wall apparently with the shower room and the toilet so if anyone uses the bathroom or the shower room, you can hear the pipes. I guess the person who designed the Hostel didn’t think about people sleeping on the other side of the wall
The view from the kitchen terrace was really nice. However, the kitchen stove was very weak as everybody had echoed. It took foreveto just have boiling water. Maybe having an electric tea kettle would be nice.

Nice but really noisy the staff it's super nice but the sonic isolation can be better
