Wonderful home in amazing Coyacan

I can not speak highly enough in praise of this small B&B and it's owner, chef and warm host Fernando.
We were wise enough to spend 5 nights here. There are only 4 guest rooms and Fernando lives on site as a proper Band B should be. He has owned and managed 2 Restaurants in his life and the breakfasts he prepared every day were excellent and different every morning. A couple from Germany were ill during their stay and Fernando was so very kind to them.
He was also a great resource for Coyacan . He grew up in this home.
The rooms are homely, clean, and the beds perfect.
I highly recommend Maria de Alma.

The guesthouse and host Fernando were so welcoming and the property is in a gorgeous setting with terraces, bird activity, and restful quiet. Breakfast was delicious and Mexican-inspired. Very conveniently located in quiet, interesting Coyoacan and near the Frida Kahlo museum. We will be back!

The Coyoacán neighbourhood is delightful and the Guest House is about 10 minutes walk to the plaza and 15 minutes to the Coyoacan Metro station. Frieda Kahlo’s house and the Mercado are just around the corner and the Trotsky museum is also close by. There are a few good restaurants a few minutes walk away and an Oxxo for snacks etc.
Fernando and Jorge serve excellent coffee and breakfast each morning at nine but they are flexible if you need to be a little earlier or later. The shared table with other guests is an excellent way to meet fellow travellers.
The standard room with a shared terrace is fine but the second one where we stayed on our return was disappointing - no terrace, a double bed and no hot water in the basin. Lots of hot water in the shower however.
We really appreciated having a bag stored while we travelled to other parts of Mexico and being able to use the garden space while we waited for our afternoon flight.

We loved our stay at Maria Del Alma Guest House. Fernando and Jorge are kind hosts, and staying in their home has been one of the highlights of our trip to CDMX. The home is absolutely stunning, and we loved eating breakfast “family style” with the other guests every morning. Perfectly located in Coyoacán. We will definitely book with Fernando and Jorge again!

A serene Coyoacan oasis from the bustle of CDMX

Casa Maria del Alma is a wonderful oasis in the heart of Coyoacan. It is a short walk to the Frida Kahlo Museo and 5-10 minute walk to the main square. The rooms are very comfy and accommodating and the garden is beautiful. The breakfasts every morning delicious. We really enjoyed our stay. Fernando and Jorge are amazing gracious and amazing. We had a couple of minor "problems" we had to deal with (none related to our stay!) and Fernando was extremely helpful. He also is a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of Coyoacan ad our conversations were delightful. We used Uber for many trips into more central areas and sites of CDMX and it was very convenient. We highly recommend Casa Maria del Alma!
