A wonderful oasis of historic calm in a vibrant area.
This quite beautiful nineteenth century house is a real gem. A tranquil oasis in the hubbub of coyoacan.
Super room with great character and charm.
The owner , Hector, is a delightful chap who has steeped his whole life in history , archeology and notably in early ceramics.
Hector could not do more for his clients and is a real font of local knowledge.
This is a very calm hotel and therefore it needs to be treated with respect.

Very bad service, they discriminate families, they don't accepted my kid and took my money they are a scam
Imagine driving long hrs arriving to this place, we were discriminated for having a child... We had to listed very tired to a young boy... That extortion us for paying and didn't let us out... Very bad experience... The place has a good idea of cleaning... But bad service... Just a boy that can speak Japanese and thinks he is special for it.... I he has to learn something from Japanese is to have some honor and don't ask for keys to rent it again after nights were paid... He they robbed us and extortion and then even ask for keys back.... Also all the furniture is very cheap including matriss...
In fact has happened to a lot of people recently... Check the reviews in the image... For this price better go to a holiday inn... This people has no idea of what means to give a service...

Beautiful, comfortable, friendly and great location
We just stayed at Villa Alfonsina in Coyoacan for the second time, and it will be our first choice for lodging in CDMX from now on. I've been a fan of Frida Kahlo since I was young, so I was drawn to this location because it is right across the street from Casa Azul. As I walk around the neighborhood, I am aware that she and Diego walked the very same streets. There's a sense of history. Coyoacan is my favorite CDMX neighborhood. It's very safe, cozy and fun. There are two mercados, lots of parks, and really great places to eat and drink. The house itself is in a perfect spot because it's walled off from the street and feels like a little oasis inside, with a lovely courtyard and gorgeous architecture. It's two blocks from the busier area, so it's very quiet at night, but within an easy walk to everything, and about a $5 Uber ride to most of the main tourist destinations within the city. The hosts are warm and friendly; a family who has restored this home, which they live in, and added rooms for guests that are contemporary and have great amenities, but still have the charm of a historic home. Internet is good, there are streaming services, lots of outlets and triple-filtered water that is drinkable from the faucet and hot from the shower.
I'm clicking "not sure" for whether there were mask requirements, but we all wore masks or stood apart outside when we interacted, and it was clear that the staff are conscientious about covid safety.

Wished we could stay longer
We were able to stay only one night, and it was wonderful. Hector was a helpful host and very accommodating, greeting us for our very late check in with a smile and a hearty, "Welcome!" He helped us arrange transportation to the bus station and recommended breakfast places nearby. The entry courtyard is stunning, and you immediately feel calm on arrival. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean, and the neighborhood is safe. The proximity to Museo Frida Kahlo is an added bonus. (Book your tickets ahead of time or there will likely be a long wait.) We look forward to returning to Villa Alfonsina the next time we are in CDMX.

We even stayed an extra night
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our whole Mexico City trip. It was just as beautiful as it’s location and included all modern facilities necessary in the room and very clean etc. The location is perfect opposite the Frida Kahlo museum and the town was our favourite place of the whole trip, so we were lucky that an extra night was available. Hector was very informative and gave us lots of great recommendations and spoke excellent English. Thank you for the great experience
