Paradise Hotel
The hotel is heavenly! The employees are extremely friendly and Holbox is just magical.
We had a room with 2 queen beds and a balcony. The view on waking up is amazing. Direct access to the beach with its bar was our favorite place. The food is quality and the cocktails amazing. This is where I ate the best octopus of my life.
The beach was clean with many fish in the water and even a small skate. My daughters, 7 and 9, were in love.

Very disappointed with our 4 night stay with several service and maintenance issues
Pros:
Good location of the hotel compared to the center. Shops easily accessible, many restaurant nearby.
Beach immediately accessible from the hotel beach club.
Cons:
- Swimming pools: cloudy, cold and 1 pool unusable for a full day due to debris fallen during palm maintenance. Leaves and coconuts fell into the pool and were not removed all day and in the evening the pool is closed. The next morning, there was still a lot of palm waste in the pool and it was not until the early afternoon to find a pool that was pretty much cleaned... but still with cloudy water.
Breakfast: several times, dishes were unavailable despite the opening of the buffet while we had lunch around 8:30-9 am and breakfast is served until 10:30 am... The staff frequently cleared our table when we were not finished eating. Example: I have coffee, I get up to get a juice, I come back, nothing on the table. I kindly tell the staff I'm not done. They reinstall, while I swallow my juice, I get up to get a yogurt and once again table cleared...
- Beach: not cleaned during our stay (many sargasses) unlike neighboring hotels on the same beach.
- Maintenance in the rooms: our accommodation was maintained during our stay, making the balcony unusable and exposing us to paint and material.
- Hot water: some days, hot water did not arrive even after more than 15 minutes waiting.
- Towels: only two towels provided for four people, whereas we had booked two accommodations for 2 people.
Noise: the hotel is poorly soundproofed; we could clearly hear our neighbours, including their snoring and phone rings. Pretty loud music from the beach club
Beach club service: we tried twice to order drinks. After about an hour of waiting each time, no service was provided.
In order to be objective, we would like to point out that as compensation, the hotel offered us following the inconveniences listed below:
- 2 nights of hotels for 2 people that we will not be able to use since we do not plan to return to Mexico and we are 4 to have suffered the inconveniences...
- 2 drinks each offered
- taxi (value 100 pesos) picked up by the hotel to return to the ferry

My new home in Holbox
Now my new favorite place to stay in Holbox!! I've been visiting this beautiful island for several years now, and have stayed at other hotels and enjoyed my stay. I have to give credit when credit is due, all the employees made my stay extremely enjoyable. Everything was always easy, service was fast and with a smile. Food was delicious, drinks were strong and the vibe on point. Karen, Roxana, Aurelio, y Kevin and forgive me if I left anyone out but honestly all the staff was sweet and kind, made my stay personal. I will definitely be coming back!!

Overall, our experience was good but not great. The staff were a bit rude and the service at the beach club lacked customer service. When we checked in, the bathroom window was open and the screen was broken so mosquitoes were coming on. On top of that, they were doing some kind of maintenance or something and the smell of spray paint was coming into the room.
