Lovely, quirky hotel
We had a room right at the back with a view onto the lovely inner courtyard so it was very quiet and peaceful. It was clean and comfortable, although we did have a problem with getting hot water. The staff worked hard to get it sorted and it was eventually ok, if a little hit and miss. There was no safe in the room and nowhere secure for valuables. The WiFi didn’t work in the room but was fine in the courtyard. The staff were lovely and patient with my very poor Spanish. We didn’t have breakfast there as we enjoyed going out to the main square for our meals. A good value base very close to the centre. If you haven’t been to Morelia - do go. It is a beautiful, unspoilt City.

Monarch Butterflies
Very attentive staff, lovely rooms in old but well kept building full of antiques. Nice inside and outside sitting areas. Beds very comfortable. Short walk to nearby square and fine restaurants. Inexpensive breakfast served in the lobby. Terrific place for two to three days.

Full of character
Housed in a quiet historic building close to the cathedral, the staff and owner are wonderfully friendly. Our room in the rear patio was quiet, clean and very roomy. We loved the quirky, creative decor. As a bonus, it is very reasonably priced. If you like unique hotels you’ll love this place.

Quaint hotel in good location
Interesting decor. Friendly helpful staff. Internet good TV - poor sound but it didn't matter to us anyway. Our bed was a bit soft for our taste and seemed to have a dip in the middle.
Our room was on the ground floor facing onto entrance and reception area but we weren't trouble by any noise. Might be different if you have noisier guests staying
Parking on Saturday in the nearby location where the hotel have an arrangement might be tricky especially if the light show is on at cathedral! We were earned against leaving our hire car in the street overnight but we didn't see any damage to those that were left there. Not a huge amount of on street parking available close by but not sure how much of a problem that would be normally.
Easy to walk to main square and lots of eating places nearby.
Breakfast good value at 60 pesos fresh juice ends ham beans tortillas coffee toast jam.

New Year’s Eve is rough everywhere
This is a very affordable quaint hands-on hotel, with a wonderful courtyard of antiques, art, radios, and phonographs. The breakfast was very nice, with eggs, toast, beans, and coffee or chocolate for the little one. The staff were very nice and attentive. The rooms however are hit or miss. Our first night we stayed in room 6, which is on the main courtyard and partially under a staircase, with a room above. Which combined with the new year’s eve date made it impossible to sleep without music from the tv blaring. There was also a severe mold issue going on above the shower, to the point we didn’t use it. I’m not being a whiner. I’m accustomed to a bit of mold around the edges as it is a humid town, and the baths at the local hotels are all interior baths. When I asked to move rooms the next morning (the hotel was obviously full NYE), I was given the option of 2 other rooms. I then chose 10, still on the courtyard but a bit larger shower without mold, and staircase adjacent to the front door instead of above the bed. It was much more airy and quiet, and not being NYE helped immensely. I think this hotel was well priced for the level of service and breakfast, and room 10. I would say room 6 isn’t really inhabitable. So be picky at check in, or request an upstairs / back patio room in advance. I paid the cheap rate for a small room on Priceline. The location is pretty great, 3 blocks off the main square. Security was a little iffy, since there is not always someone at the front door, and they want to keep your key up front when you are out of the hotel. I just chose to keep my key. I think next time I would reserve a room more in advance of my trip at the b&b across the street Casona Rosa. The pricing was the same, security was better, and the rooms are more quaint. Unfortunately they were full except for a shared bath / double bed when I tried to reserve. I hate to give a 3 when their staff members were so kind, but I have to be honest about night one.
