Great location

This hotel was really close to the markets and Zocalo Square. It was a little dated, although fitted in with the ambience of the area. It was clean and there was free drinking water available to fill your own bottles. Close to nice restaurants.
Stayed with a Tucan tour.

Could of been cleaner !!

A room for one night only - excellent location and friendly staff. The hotel itself was clean enough but the very dated bathroom was not.
It really needed a good scrub - especially the sink area - so we tried to avoid it !

1 night, good for tourism stay

I stayed here one night while on a Tucan tour. The quality was fine, typical for Latin America, and I would stay here again. There were no issues with the room. The location was excellent for a tourism visit, near the markets and main square, and it enabled us to make the most of our time in Oaxaca.

Convenient location

Hotel room was fine, clean and quiet. Close to Zocalo & cafes there. Also good restaurant across from hotel, can't remember the name of it. Market stalls set up right in front of hotel, so bit tricky getting past back into hotel

Convenient Location, Budget Hotel

I go to Oaxaca City on a regular basis. Usually I stay at Meson del Rey. It is centrally located, two blocks from the zócalo, close to the market and it is an easy place to get taxis. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The prices are economical. In December, high season, the room for one person cost 680 pesos.
The receptionists were helpful. I needed to find an obscure government office; they found it and the address. On another occasion, I needed to sing the Mexican National Anthem (for Mexican Citizenship), the receptionist helped me to learn and sing the song correctly.
