WEEKEND WITH FRIENDS IN LAS TERMAS SAN JOAQUIN

A very large place, with super comfortable facilities, the attention of the staff is 100/10 , the exquisite food as well as the spa staff, everything is very father, at a fair price, we never missed anything, it is a good option to go out for a weekend with friends not so far from mty or Coahuila

Rural and Rudimentary but Something to Do

Natural hot springs in a Romanesque style underground atrium. While it’s got character and a nostalgic flare, the construction and operating quality is rudimentary. Not like a high-end Korean spa that’s scrubbed clean every night. The water is a pretty color but I wouldn’t let it get in your mouth. It’s a natural hot spring and there are a lot of particles and debris in the water. A little grimy here and there, but not too bad. The atrium feels about 100*F ambient air temperature and very humid—bring a couple liters of water to keep hydrated in there. Only the cold pull-shower provides an option to cool down.
There are no locker rooms. You pay the admission fee and carry your stuff straight into the hot spring atrium. If it’s not busy there are stone and wood benches everywhere to put your stuff. Overall minimal service from the staff. You need to bring your own towel and flippers.
There are no pre-showers—only one cold pull-shower inside the hot spring atrium room. And you cannot use soap and shampoo. Just be aware that when you visit here that cold-pull shower is your only way to wash off before leaving.
Quiet ambiance. No music was playing while I was there and the walls all had signs reminding people to whisper. The facility itself is in a rural desert location. Nothing else around. No convenient shops. Nothing.
The road here from Monterey gets pretty rural. Lots of pot holes starting from 10 miles out. Don’t recommend driving it in the dark.
You can book a tour here through Expedia (~$110 USD / person), or go directly through a local tour company like Monterrey Tour for a few dollars cheaper.
General admission fee without any spa services is 235 pesos / adult. Sometimes you can find a promotion on their Instagram.

Gracias por sus comentarios, los apreciamos. Nuestros espacios termales son 100% naturales y el contenido del agua son mas 75 minerales que provee el subsuelo. Las características del agua termal no son modificadas para mayor beneficio.

The staff was attentive and very courteous. We loved the hot spring and the Temazcal. The kids loved the pool and the experience at the observatory. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was good too.

3.5 star hotel but charges as if it were 5

First the good: it is a quiet Hotel in the middle of the semi-desert area of the northeast of the country, with large gardens and isolated from the bustle of the city. If you like the desert landscape and the tranquility of the countryside you will enjoy it. The pool is wide, and roof unfortunately very cold water
The hotel is mediocre in terms of Service and meals. The only thing that saves the hotel are the hot springs and a man of great knowledge named Pablo pacheco who has an observatory to see the stars, plus he gives you a tour in the surroundings to explain about the flora and fauna , (very interesting and illustrative) unfortunately only goes on weekends
The bad: it is completely isolated from cities, the road to arrive full of potholes (don't go at night), the Service to guests and facilities leave to be desired.To name a few, there is no internet in the rooms (although they advertise it in their advertising) the waiters and employees although some strive but are the exception most do not care about the good Service, the facilities although clean are neglected in maintenance , in my room the safe did not work and could not make it work the technicians of the hotel, there was a lamp with cables making short and floodlights not working. The food is with very little variety and not very good presentation., flavor I give a 7. Desserts some days were served frozen that they had kept from other days
Relationship Price-quality: very expensive for the Service they give
