This is a safe location and no one should be put off by any government websites or travel agencies that say otherwise. t

The restaurant menu is varied and the food is freshly prepared with all local ingredients and seafood and all the dishes are delicious. It is run by the owners, Maria and Domingo who pay close attention to details and make sure that the guests are made comfortable and are very helpful. There is no security issue and this area of Mozambique is very safe. The local people are very friendly and kind. The staff are very polite and cannot do enough for you to enjoy your stay. The beach is white sand and very clean and the sea is warm!

Started the year in paradise!

Chuiba was just perfect, a little piece of paradise on the coast of Mozambique. Hot and humid, just the way it should be. Absolutely lovely and comfortable decor, you would think you're in Bali. It's not far from the main town, but feels completely secluded. The food was delicious, the swordfish carpaccio and gigantic crayfish were a delight! Easy 2 and half hours from Johannesburg. Swimmable beach, refreshing pools for a small number of guests. The service was discreet and Maria and Domingos make you feel right at home. My husband and I will surely return!

A pleasant discovery

We are always in search of uncontaminated places in close contact with nature and Chuiba Bay Lodge was a wonderful discovery. Relaxation, warm sea, exquisite cuisine...it was two weeks of pampering. A huge thank you to Delio and Maria for their hospitality and availability. They helped us organize a mini safari in Gorongosa National Park, it was a pleasant adventure. Pemba city is easily reachable by taxi for those who want to browse or organize some diving. We ate at a few local restaurants, but no one beats Maria's dishes. I recommend this place to those who want to avoid mass tourism and completely unplug, we will definitely return. A big hug to all the guys who make this place a corner of paradise.

Pemba Getaway

An excellent beachside get away by the quiet sands and reef of Chuiba beach. Delio and Maria couldn't have been better hosts, nor more helpful, and theirs is a kitchen of worth. Highly recommended on every level.

Chuiba Bay Lodge is beautiful hidden pearl by rhe beach 20 min. drive from Pemba Airport. Great accomodation with great service and great cartering. The owners Mrs. Maria and Mr. Domingos was very welcoming and helpful and made my 3 days stay a pleasure!
