Good for 1 night, but do not expect tasty food

Goba Lodge & Camping is located on road B6 in the southern outskirts of town. The lodge offers 22 rooms, a self-catering family house, and 3 campsites. The establishment is gated and there is a restaurant and a garden with pool. Outfit and layout provide a relaxed atmosphere. Staff is friendly. We opted for a room and had dinner at the restaurant. The food was disappointing. We has a Greec Sald and a Filet with Vegetables & Fries accomponied by a carafe of South African Red. The salad was unimpressive, the filet was OK but not hot, like the fries, and the red wine was cold. Our room had a good queen-size bed, desk & chair, TV & airco, fridge & tea making facility, wardrobe & safe, washbasin in the room, and a covered terrace with table & chairs. We had a separate shower, and a separate toilet. All was clean. Goba Lodge is a good place, and a fine choice for 1 night, but do not expect tasty food.

Beware!

Arrived today with confirmed booking through booking.com. Our booking was discarded by this establishment giving preferance to people attending a festival in town. Booking.com was blamed as well as the fact that the owner dont give the bookings through to management. We were offered sub standard accommodation in the
Camping area and we had to take it as the whole town was fully booked.
After reading some reviews we realised that this is a standard with this establishment.
Please stay away as they dont honor any bookings made in advance

Not good enough

Unfortunately, the service was very poor here, just a poor waitress who had to do all the work alone. Waited first 30min for our drink. Then we waited 2 hours for the food. But the service and service otherwise makes it ruin the experience.

Perfect spot to stop after a long drive from Maun Botswana.

We stopped at this lodge on the way back from Maun Botswana to Windhoek Namibia. We did not have reservations and had found the place on booking . Com. The walk up price was almost half the price of booking .com. The folks at reception and the restaurant were great. The lodge has a nice pool and camping area in the rear of the property. We choose a room which had all the conveniences and breakfast was included. The property was pretty much empty and close to the town of Gobabis. Perfect spot for a break from driving a Toyota Landcruiser with 2 compromised front shocks on the Trans Kalahari Highway.

Unfortunate customer service

Made a booking with Goba Lodge 3 weeks in advance and received email confirmation.
When calling to confirm the booking a few days ahead of arrival the staff informed me they didn't have the booking on their system. They did not once apologize for their mistake. They did attempt to find me new accommodation (for the incorrect amount of nights) but ultimately I had to make my own arrangements at the last minute.
Unfortunate customer service on their part.
