Cosy, lovely and relaxed

That guest house offers everything you need for a good stay, for a not cheap but fair price! Tiny and big rooms are both absolutely fine and the staff is always helpful! Location is great, right next to the Durbar square but still quiet and with a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast alright.

Recommended for stay in Bhaktapur

We very much enjoyed our stay in this guest house. Very friendly staff, clean room, working fan, tasty food - the breakfast with fresh fruit, muesly and creamy curd is recommended as well as traditional Nepali tea/coffee. We appreciate the good quality beds/matrasses and quiet surroundings, allowing a good night sleep. Cultural heratige sites, small local Nepali eating places are close by as well as touristic shops, supermarket, restaurants and a busstation at walking distance.

Simple but comfortable

Golden Gate is tucked away in a courtyard close to Durbar Square. The manager helped us find the guest house. The price is very reasonable. I had a triple room for three of us and it was spacious enough, with a balcony, no AC but it had fans. The bathroom was basic but adequate. The manager arranged a guide for us who took us around Durbar Sq for two hours. The manager also organized a taxi to take us back to Kathmandu with stops along the way. A lovely stay in a pretty town.

Amazing Host

Honestly one of my trip highlight so far. The owner named Decent is a really nice guy he walked with me around town and explain me a LOT of stuff about the culture the city etc etc.
Highly recommended, rooms are really clean and you have a lot of budget choice.

The best in Bhaktapur

This year was my fourth stay in Golden Gate House. This year I came with a group of 12 people. We stayed for 4 nights.
It is rare to come to a Guesthouse where all wishes are fulfilled and furthermore constant suggestions to improve the stay.
The rooms are nice and clea. The wifi worked well. Food is tasty. A wonderful rooftop with a magnificent view to the Himalayas. You can have your clothes washed for very lille money.
The staff is very good - helpful in all ways, and very kind. The manager speaks fine English.
The guesthouse is located in the heart of Bhatpur´s old city whicj is world heritage.
Half af the rooms is facing the yard. they are quiet. The other half is facing Durbar Square, with temples, now being restored, people walking by and sometimes at night there are dogs barking. Fantastic to experience life at Durbar Square.
