Best place I’ve stayed in Nepal!

Best place I’ve stayed in Nepal!
Waaauw this place is just amazing. It’s clean, cosy, has a hot shower, great WiFi and a nice garden + roof to work/relax in. Definitely the best place I’ve stayed during my month in Nepal! It’s very easy to meet people here as well and the location is just perfect, in the middle of the center but in a small street which makes the garden a nice way to escape the loud city sometimes ;). Also the food they sell is very good.
But the most important: the staff! Always so friendly and really there to help you, even when you have a thousand questions ;). Also if you book a trek here it is sooo much cheaper than what I’ve heard from other people! Thank you Pramod for organizing Manaslu trekking and all of the service :). Dhurba was the best guide ever! We could leave our extra stuff here while we did the trek for free and I could even use my room untill 20PM because I had an evening flight, so sweet.
10/10, will definitely go here again

RUN AWAY!!!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hostel.
What shocked me the most was the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior of the reception staff.
I asked for help regarding a very disrespectful roommate during the night until 4 AM, while I had an early flight the next day to Malaysia. Instead of handling the situation fairly, the staff openly treated the problem differently based on the origin of the people involved.
The receptionist clearly stated that they trusted Indian customers more and that Europeans were generally considered "strange" or "untrustworthy." I was also told that they did not want to intervene because I was European and the other customer was Indian. Hearing such racist and discriminatory remarks from the staff of a hostel was genuinely shocking and very hurtful.
What made the situation even worse was that the other customer was offered a private room at the same price, while I — the person who was actually disturbed — received absolutely no solution.
Beyond that, the staff was generally unpleasant and contemptuous throughout my stay. Yet, I remained respectful from start to finish and was even a very good customer, eating every day at the hostel's restaurant, morning and evening. Unfortunately, I received no respect in return.
Another important point for future travelers: be prepared to climb to the fifth floor just to go to the bathroom. In the middle of the night, this is particularly bothersome and completely wakes you up.
Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. I do not ask for luxury in a hostel, but a minimum of professionalism, fairness, and respect towards customers, regardless of their nationality or origin.

Every thing we love.

Not real easy to find, as it opens off a bit of a laneway- but well worth the finding. We had a “private” room with ensuite, and it was the most comfortable, clean, and quiet room we’d had in Kathmandu. The restaurant was top notch, with a wide range of meals. The staff especially Bibek, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Felt comfortable having hotel organising day trip and taxi to airport. Good value too. Thank you.

Another 10/10 review for Kwabahal. The hostel (I stayed in a single room with a bathroom) is located down an alley in its own atrium like spot with a lovely garden. It's 100 feet from the streets of Thamel but it's an oasis refuge from that bustle. Excellent, honest, and pleasant staff and management. A key feature of this stay is the restaurant. There are four different eating areas inside and out scattered around the courtyard. The food is excellent across every dish (I particularly enjoyed their version of a Thai curry and their different western style breakfast offerings) and the wait staff is fabulously friendly and polite. I was impressed by everyone, but particularly by Roshika, Divya, and Sneha.

A Calm Retreat in the Heart of Thamel

This hotel was a haven to get away from the bustling city of Kathmandu. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hot shower was very powerful and beds were extremely comfortable. The location was perfect, in the centre of the tourist district.
