Wonderful atmosphere close to all the temples

One of the friendliest and best services I had in five weeks living in various lodges. Although it can't compete with high standard hotels, it feels great to hang out there and enjoy all the meals there. The owner is always cool and positive, probably more than several monks...

Horrible Attitude, No Hot Water, Dirty Blankets

They don't have sufficient hot water. For me and the other guests there was none as they only utilise their solar rather than the backup electric. When I arrived I was told I could check-in at 11:00am. I was the only guest waiting and the rooms were being cleaned already, though it was 13:00 when I finally checked in. The bed blanket stank like it had been in a pig shed for a decade and when I requested another they said they had no spare sheets or blankets as they had an issue with the laundry (so they gave me a filthy blanket and ripped sheets instead). Lumbini is very cold during this season, so to not have hot water (especially after a long night bus journey) is beyond appalling (they probably do too but they're trying to maximise profits by removing staple services). I moved to another hotel nearby who turned on the electric system so his guests could have hot water as the overcast weather didn't allow for sufficient energy from their solar. The character of the owner was too clearly that of 'money money money'.

Awesome tour guide

I didn't stay in the lodge but I happened to come across the owner and had a tour to maya devi with him. He really cares about making the visitors understand the history of the place and why it's important for Buddhism. He is also very nice and helps out to organise anything you need. Totally worth the visit and specially the tour.

Friendly and helpful people

Very friendly staff. The owner made feel us comfortable. He was very helpful and explained us a lot of the beautiful place of Lumbini. I lost my jacket in the local bus. He called immediately to arrange that I got my jacket back. (Thanks a lot). This place is a must! Not only because of the place but also because of the wonderful area. People who are living at their farms and at the other side of the village the lof of tempels and the birthplace of Boeddha. I will recommend this beautiful guesthouse to you!

Nice staff but very old rooms with bad amenities

I stayed here one night while in Lumpini. The accommodations are quite old and bad maintained. The water pipe in the bathroom was broken and you could see the water all night long, which makes it very difficult to fall asleep.
Also, I had a breakfast included in my booking, but did was not offered it in the hotel nor was I told where I could possibly get a breakfast. The rooms are also quite old and a bit dirty with a lot of insects and geckos in. There are better accommodations in the city.
