I never normally leave a bad review but this hotel has upset me so much I thought people needed to be warned.
On arrival the front of house team were friendly and the hotel seemed nice and clean. Thats where the positives end I am afraid.
Lunch was mediocre and let down especially by the selection of wine, you would think a 5 star hotel would offer better than Jacobs creek!
The pool is indeed large but what they neglect to tell you is you are only allowed access to half of it if you are not staying in the villas.
The service is slow and they are do not offer much explanation on how things work etc.
The thing that really left a sour taste is the casino (the whole reason we booked the place) we arrived and the rudeness was another level.
Front desk barely looked at us we had less security checks getting into the country!
When we entered the casino, everybody was staring including the staff, they didn't even try to hide it and there was not one smile on their faces.
The only saving grace was the barman who, chatted to us and advised us to choose a table and he would bring the drinks over.
Due to the clear hostility on the other roulette tables we chose an empty one with three staff members. Not one of them even smiled when we asked if we could play, they stared blankly and then sneered.
At this point I had enough and walked out.
I tried to talk to the concierge but they too were disinterested.
In summary this hotel had potential but it is soulless, poor choice of drinks and casino staff!
