Superb hostel, safe, very helpful and smiling staff!

Beautiful hostel! We stayed only one night, in a private room, with air conditioning. It was super clean, the room is large and we had a private toilet. The hostel is located a little outside the heart of the city, which is nothing the more pleasant experience, less noisy and feels safer (only 5 minutes walk from the heart of the SJDS action). Pool, bar, staff is super helpful and smiling! Only downside: lunch included with an option only. Excellent Value for Award. I highly recommend this place!

Great sociable hostel with family vibe

We LOVED this hostel - great vibe for travellers and we were made to feel very welcome - Tom was an amazing host as were all the other staff.
Great location and free shuttle - and we did the organised surf trips and beach party and these were amazing
Would definitely stay here again

A great place to learn to surf and have fun in San Juan

We really enjoyed our stay here! We did a four-day surf package, with great instruction from Osman, Jagger, and Christian. The atmosphere at the hostel was really fun, with activities every night. The surf school was great, they really encourage you to make new progress each day, which helps avoid stagnating, and help you have fun. They are really patient, and make an extra effort to help you have fun and progress! It would have been good if the hostel gave us more information when we checked in, as we had to proactively ask questions to find out about stuff like when the surf trips were, what we needed to bring, when meals were, etc.

An incredible experience

Hola Ola is really a home away from home. Fantastic location, easily walkable from town to the Jesus Statue with frequent shuttle service. The staff, volunteers and owner are all wonderfully accommodating and really make you feel safe and secure. A wealth of fun social activities, perfectly tailored surf lessons and the pool is a perfect breather between excursions. Their comfort, friendliness and security is unparalleled. Lifelong friendships are there to be made through their activities, bonfire nights and surf trips. For any type of traveller, a stay at Hola Ola will definitely enhance and deepen your travel experience. And don't get me started on the precious guardian dog Ola.

Amazing.

Fantastic place and has many activities, it's like family. Congratulations team Hola Ola for excellence in service and making people feel at home.
the food they make is fantastic and there are party days at the hostel. I loved the time I spent in San Juan del Sur.
