Love the area, and the viewing platform (that I didn't know was there initially) offer some of the best viewing in town

Nothing like it shows in the picture , nice if you want to live like locals. We took the biggest room. Cold water in the shower, the ac was noisy, not enough light at night . Everything is below basic.

So upon arrival to Nuestra Casa I was very displeased. The pool was visibly dirty as well as the kitchen area. I spoke with a manager at their sister hotel Casa Oro and they were very accommodating and switched my room. My stay at Ana Lucia was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Besides the no hot water, no shampoo, and the fact that my window opened up to where the sheets were hung (not much natural light), the room was fine. AC worked well! Electricity only went out twice for a very short time. Internet WiFi was weak but I could still hop on calls if the camera was turned off. Didn’t hear any loud music (but could hear people talking in other rooms and lobby).
Free breakfast was a perk. Fruit was very fresh!
Location was excellent. 1 minutes walk to the beach and tons of restaurants. The beach is gross but you can take shuttles to the nice ones for swimming / surfing.
Pro tip: book a massage. The masseuse comes to your room. Carina was great!
Check in was weak. Wish they told me there was a rooftop deck! I had no idea. Also was not told how to lock the main gate when I left (security hazard)?

Way overpriced for what you get

Way overpriced for what you get
Pros:
- Large room and very nice covered balcony. Very good breakfast.
- Katerina was very welcoming and a great cook.
- Pool looked ok but we did not use. We felt uncomfortable around the night shift guy
Cons:
- Water pressure for shower was non existant. I could barely clean myself. And no hot water.
- Beds only had top sheet no blanket. Staff said there were none!
- Lights kept shutting down. Staff tried breakers but were of little help.
- Ants everywhere left us thinking place was not cleaned often
- Tile design on floor were loose or broken and were dangerous to cut our feet.
- Balcony had only 1 guest chair. It took us asking night guy 3 times to finally get an office style chair.
- We seemed to be the only guests in the entire place.
- When we arrived, night guy tried to help us order pizza and drinks. It took over an hour even with a translating app. And he wouldn’t leave our room each time he came back to try to upsell us beer or whatever. It made us uncomfortable and we had to almost push him out of the doorway to close the door.
- Rooftop patio had no chairs or hammocks so basically useless for guests
All in all it was a very disappointing stay. I would expect more ammenities for the price. I would not recommend this place to others. You probably can find better for less.
