Centrally located

You can imagine yourself in old Dutch atmospheres again. Back to my weekends with grandma:-) Beautiful village and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located across the street from the free parking at the castle of Amerongen / Buitenplaats Amerongen. Walking distance also to eateries.

Nice experience in this B&B.

Beautiful B&B opposite Amerongen Castle. The furnishings bring you into the atmosphere of the castle. Nice room and good bed. Owner Astrid was very friendly.
Within 10 minutes in the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
However, wind at night was clearly audible in the room.

Very nice house and location

We shared the large romantic room upstairs with three persons and had a wonderful stay. Thanks for the hospitality and the suggestions for a better restaurant. We were offered to use bicycles for free to go to village 10km away. But eventually we went to "De Rode Leeuw" for a very nice diner.

Nice romantic B&B in beautiful village

We have some beautiful memories of Amerongen, so once in a while we come back to this lovely village with its beautiful castle.However we never stayed for the night and thought it was time to change that. Based on the reviews on TA we chose the Gasthuys and we were not disappointed.
The Gasthuys is easy to find: it is on the other side of the square in front of the castle entrance.There is plenty of free parking space.
We got a very friendly welcome from Astrid who is the owner of the B&B and a superb host.Our room was on the first floor and decorated in a very romantic - eclectic way. It was spacious and in pristine condition. We slept in a so called "cup board bed". It felt a little bit small and the mattress was may be a little bit too soft for our liking, however we slept very well!
The bathroom, although private, is on the corridor. It is very clean but a bit thight.
Breakfast in the morning was good with yoghurt & fruit, croissants and all kinds of bread.
For dinner by the way go to restaurant de Rode Leeuw: only 3 minutes walking and excellent food.
We can definitely recommend the Gasthuys, especialy if you like a romanctic - eclectic place!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von der Gastgeberin empfangen. Tolles Ambiente und eine gute Lage! Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück im Garten. Ein herrliches Kleinod! Ein kleines gemütliches Haus, ich kann es ihnen nur empfehlen!
