Lovely large room, clean, comfy bed. The bathroom was a good size unfortunately the shower rose mechanism kept on collapsing so had to be held up manually. It was reported as requiring maintenance but the attempt made by the handyman was pathetic and didn't work. This was advised to the front desk on the way out. Good luck to the next people in the room.
The location is absolutely fabulous although the noise of the light rail trams passing by is a little annoying until you get used to it, BUT Location, location, location.

Dikker and Thijs Hotel stay

The view was great but there was very limited bell service. We had to carry our heavy luggage down several steps which was not so easy. If we go to Amsterdam again, I would stay somewhere with more services to guests.

This hotel is so gorgeous & in a fabulous location! So many restaurants & bars & fun right outside your door. Plus transit to airport is super ease with the line stopping right there. The room was spacious & clean with great AC - a must in the heat wave we had. The staff were super sweet with the kids & gave great recommendations for bike rentals & restaurants. The breakfast was delicious & had later hours which was great for sleeping in. I'd be back in a heartbeat!

An excellent choice!

I highly recommend the Dikker & Thijs Hotel in Amsterdam. A friend and I checked in for five nights in June. Each of us loved our rooms. The mattresses were supremely comfortable, the bathrooms well appointed, and the air conditioning (there was a heat wave) beyond par. The daily breakfast table was loaded with options European style, and the kitchen also served coffee beverages and eggs to order (with bacon available on request). The staff was always helpful with recommendations for places to go and to eat. It was only a 10-minute walk to the museum district, and the tram was right outside the door. We would definitely stay here again on a trip to Amsterdam!

The staff was exceptional. Always willing to help with luggage, ice or our daily itinerary. Our room was large and clean, although the shower/tub combo was hard to get in and out of. The breakfast was great - especially the automatic orange juicer! We were there during a heatwave and while the room was nice and cold the lobby and breakfast area were pretty warm. The location was great as well.
