More than a simple B&B !!!
Unforgettable days in spring 2022
We enjoyed four wonderful days full of sunshine in every respect. This is not only a B&B but a work of art too. The cozy flat is artistically decorated everywhere ! Overmore Alberto and Ilario were sooo helpful with us oldies from Germany. Their heartfelt hospitality is quite something ! Every morning there was a fantastic breakfast with so many good things to choose. Delicious pancakes must be mentioned !!! And on top we had really good talks with Alberto . Miss Ortelia B&B is so much more than just a place to stay for a few nights in Amsterdam !

"Massively disappointing value for money"

We paid 871,- for 4 days for an accommodation that resembles an overpriced shared room more than a serious overnight option.
The owner is personally very friendly and communicative — that is exactly why the disappointment about the actual overall package on site is all the greater.
The room is tiny, not even lockable from the outside, and offers practically no privacy. It cannot be darkened either — therefore, a sleep mask is already provided as a precaution. Space for luggage? None. There is only about 30 cm of space between the edge of the bed and the wall, making it nearly impossible to move normally in the room. Safe for valuables? Of course not.
The shared bathroom is extremely small and seems almost grotesque for this price range. The room is so tiny that even the handwashing sink is integrated directly into the mini-shower. Immediately upon arrival, guests are instructed to please clean the shower themselves and leave it tidy. At the latest, one wonders what the over 200 € charge is actually for.
Shoes must be removed, and then one tiptoes in socks through an extremely noisy apartment. The old wooden floor creaks with practically every step so loudly that with six people in this small apartment, there is constant unrest, and one always feels that they cannot have peace themselves nor avoid disturbing others. There can be no talk of relaxation or privacy here.
However, the most astonishing thing is how skillfully this accommodation is presented in advance. The communication is professional, friendly, and almost euphoric — however, the reality on-site stands in stark contrast to this. This is precisely what creates the expectation of booking something special here.
In reality, one receives extremely little comfort for a completely inflated price, no options for retreat, and a level that we consider completely unacceptable for this price range.
The breakfast was decent and good — however, it remains nearly the only point we can mention positively.
From our perspective, about 50 € per person plus breakfast — even for expensive standards in Amsterdam — would be a fair and reasonable price for what is actually offered here. However, the actual price charged bears no reasonable relation to this.
We have rarely felt so out of place and at the same time so poorly taken care of. Anyone expecting even a hint of quality, peace, or privacy for their money should urgently stay away from this accommodation.

Amazing B&B, beautiful, warm, well located, clean, cosy and the owners are absolutely lovely
We had an absolutely amazing time at Alberto & Ilarios's B&B. This is a real B&B like you can't find a lot anymore around the world. The decoration is so beautiful, the breakfast is the best breakfast you can dream to have! Delicious, home made pancakes or eggs with bacon, cheeses, yogurths, loads of different jams and choco paste, cereals, everything! It was such a pleasure to meet with the owners who are really kind and helpful! We rented the bikes from there and was just perfect! Ilario is also a masseur, having a shiatsu cabinet in town. I went and tried his massage, it was really relaxing and absolutely perfect. I cannot recommand a better place to stay in Amsterdam!

Lovely little B&B
I managed to find a spot here last minute and I am so glad I did. Alberto is incredibly helpful with all the trip details, from calling after you've booked to giving step-by-step instructions on travel to the B&B to helping you plan activities. The place itself is small but charming. And the breakfast is absolutely lovely - relaxing with plenty of delicious food options.
Location is fantastic as well - it's quite easy to get around the city by mass transit or by bike from the B&B.

Delightful stay at Miss Ortelia.
We had a delightful stay at Miss Ortelia. Alberto & Illario, owners of the B &B,were absolutely caring and very helpful - from preparing a delicious breakfast in the morning,to giving us loads & loads of tips on what to see and what not. We can see that they simply love running Miss Ortelia!!
