Perfect location near the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum as well as metros and great restaurants. We could walk anywhere we wanted to go in 30 minutes or less. Spacious, comfortable room and lovely staff. The breakfast was worth the add on, everything was delicious and made starting our day easy.

Never stayed in such a filthy hotel room.

Never have I been in a hotel where the cleaning left so much to be desired. The filthy elevator was the beginning, but the room really beat everything. This was not cleaned properly for quite some time. A dirty greasy layer of dust everywhere, a minibar with leftover food in it, bathroom tiles that al zekler hasn't covered in a year.
I immediately informed the reception and immediately noticed that they had to deal with this more often. The room was promised to be thoroughly cleaned the next day (!).
Nothing happened the next day. Again the reception informed, again apologies. In between the reception also informed that the cleaner was sleeping in a chair in the hallway on the fourth floor. Well then of course not much happens. Day 3 still nothing cleaned. Then sent an email with photos to the reception.
The fourth day the bathroom was cleaned a little better. the rest of the room was just as dirty.
As a concession I was offered a discount voucher for a next stay. Well, I didn't see me. Disgraceful!

Tiny room, good breakfast. Good choice for a solo or couple who want a good (canal) location, included breakfast, and are mobile. Not so good for business, and not acceptable if you cannot walk up and down stairs (to get from the street to the front door). I was a solo traveler on business but who also wanted to experience the touristic/cultural aspects (through I've been to Amsterdam before). The desk was barely big enough for a laptop (after I removed the coffee maker and phone). An ironing board is available to borrow, but it is portable sized, not full size.

The room was clean but neglected.
Lamps, ceilings, curtains etc have definetely seen better times ....
I couldn't really close the shower door for example

The hotel is located in central Amsterdam along a canal. The views were spectacular from our room. There is an amazing courtyard to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in. The breakfasts were very good. The staff were very warm and friendly. I highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to stay in central Amsterdam.
