A delightful hotel in a fantastic and quiet location – a true hidden gem!
The Tulip of Amsterdam is a real treasure

*Next to a metro station (with direct connections to the Bijlmer Arena, ideal for concerts!)
*Chinatown and the Red Light District are just around the corner
*Yet still a quiet location

*Charming old building with an original staircase, for authentic Amsterdam flair
*Lovingly furnished room, equipped with everything you could wish for and then some!
*Daily snacks and drinks in the room (included!)
*Shared kitchen

*Daniel and Chris are incredibly warm and helpful
*Communication was seamless and super fast
*You feel completely welcome and truly pampered
In conclusion, I can only reiterate: the Tulip of Amsterdam is a true hidden gem and our new go-to place for trips to Amsterdam! We're already looking forward to next time

Exceptional Stay With Outstanding Hosts

If you’re looking for a stay outside the typical hotel experience, I highly recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam. The location is excellent, but what truly makes this place special are the hosts, Chris and David. They go above and beyond in every way, from exceptional cleanliness to thoughtful amenities and top-tier service.
They were incredibly responsive whenever I had a question, and when a slight issue came up, they addressed it immediately. They also provided a helpful guide that I pulled several recommendations from, and even arranged my airport cab at a great price with a reliable driver.
After a long day, it was wonderful to return to a clean, cozy room. Snacks and beverages were restocked daily, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and I loved being able to control the temperature.
As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe throughout my stay. I would absolutely return the next time I’m in Amsterdam.

Lovely place to stay in the heart of Amsterdam

The Tulip of Amsterdam was such a pleasant surprise! As a long-time corporate traveler, I typically stay in the big chain hotels, but traveling with my daughter, we wanted to try something different this trip. Enter the Tulip. This is such a sweet little property, well-located just steps off Nieuwmarkt and a quick walk from the Metro. David, our host, was so welcoming and was full of tips for our stay. From restaurant recommendations, to storing our bags while we went sightseeing on our final day, he was so accommodating and helpful. We loved chatting with him and meeting his very friendly cat, Heidi, who supervised us on our comings and goings.
The room was an excellent size for two, and was well-supplied with snacks, coffee, a small fridge, and a microwave. The beds were warm and comfortable, and the team was kind enough to split apart the king bed into two smaller ones for my daughter and me.
As others have stated, the stairs are steep, but David very kindly helped us with our bags to make it as easy as possible for us to bring our things up and down. We had a hard time leaving when it came time to go, and we will definitely be back!

Lovely little B&B gem

We stayed in this lovely B&B this week. They allocated us the top floor room in which there was everything from a microwave, a mini fridge to a hairdryer and straighteners there's even a magical replenishment fairy and Netflix. The location is great, central to everything you need and it's only a 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station.
My only drawback to this B&B would be the steep spiral staircase and it is very steep and narrow but if you are fine with that you'll enjoy it here, like we did.

Perfect

The owner David and staff Mary went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. They have thought of everything, the rooms were complete with everything from spare razors, toothbrushes, travel adaptors and paracetamol. Beds are super comfy. Netflix on TV with their own account so no faff, can just fire it up and relax. Complimentary snacks and drinks are topped up daily which was awesome. Im forgetting many things I'm sure but the bottom line is I've never seen such attention to detail and care in a BnB before. Thanks David and thanks Mary. We will be back.
