Budget friendly
Good value for money compared to the prices in Amsterdam! The staff were very friendly and welcoming.It's also conveniently located close to Schiphol Airport, with a tram stop close by providing easy access to the city. We appreciated the free luggage storage and parking. We'd happily stay here again!

Just about ok!
Situated in a residential area, definitely not the nicest but easy to get to/from Amsterdam Central on no 17 tram.
Hotel looks like it was originally a hostel or student accommodation and it has a strange vibe about it. Not a typical hotel set up.
No air conditioning and window opened about 3 inches, so in the summer it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Our room (107) was on ground floor looking out to a barren weedy courtyard. The room smelt awful and as we couldn't open window much, smell stayed!
Very noisy hotel, with guests/locals standing outside foyer smoking and shouting till early in the morning.
Did think about going elsewhere once we'd arrived, however for 3 nights it was just about bearable!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in , they charge you €100 deposit at the desk without mentioning it on the booking on top of room tax which is only payable by card staff members are arrogant rooms aren’t cleaned properly wouldn’t recommend to anyone place stinks all the time nothing worked

The bed was also very uncomfortable because the mattress had broken springs.
The breakfast was very poor, with limited choice and low-quality food.
The hotel staff were not helpful. When I asked for information about nearby tourist attractions, they simply told me to “check Google” instead of offering any assistance.

Westlake hotel - don't waste your money

Pictures on website very misleading, outside of the hotel looks like North London - rough parts. Hotel surprisingly very nice looking inside.
Pictures of a fitness room and sunbed room - restaurant, lovely outside area- all of things you can not use, very nice large eating area, not serving anything but very mediocre breakfast- very limited for cost a few pastries and limited fruit, no usable outside space a nice big kitchen not in use, nice big bar, not in use, So clearly website is not accurate and misleading for people, on arrival, staff seemed very friendly, but gave us little to no information- like very importantly you need to use your door key to use the lifts, no one explained this so, we were stuck in the very small lift not moving not opening in blistering heat within the first 5mins of arriving- so not a great start.
Room, was very hot on arrival, but kind of expected as we were experiencing 30-39° heat, but when we tried to open the windows they open a Crack, I suppose because we were on the 4th floor, but not great, room was clean and bathroom very nice, we noticed there was a air conditioning unit which was a nice surprise, but it didn't work at all and no fan, it was like sleeping a sauna very soft mattresses which made the heat worse, thick winter Duvets, very hot suffy nights hard to sleep.
The area is very family oriented play park schools, but as a female I would not feel safe walking around the area at night.
There are no shops locally quite a walk and very local shops not designed for tourists, they make their own prices up and when the hotel doesn't have anything but a vending machine that only takes cash no change for cold drinks you have not choice but to pay what ever prices the shops decide, also no fridge in rooms, so no option to keep drinks cold, also no alcohol options locally you will work out why that is when you arrive in the area.
Thank God for the trams so easy to use and easy access to the city centre quick and easy to use and navigate. Amsterdam was amazing, buy I would suggest getting a hotel in the centre rather than trying to save a little money to stay further away. Especially in the hot seasons. Would most definitely not stay at this hotel again. Love Holidays should not have this hotel on their books. Nearly ruined out first trio to Amsterdam.
