Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings

We enjoyed 3 days of Welcoming, the fine beds and the delicious breakfast. The location offers many opportunities to explore the area by car or bicycle. Ameland, Dokkum and Leeuwarden are very worthwhile. But also the small bridge of Bartlehiem and the walk over the Dike at the Wadden Sea, are recommended.

Best B&B in Friesland

Alice and Ferry are the best. Our second visit in Ferwert at Het Schoolhuis and it's amazing. Very clean and modern rooms and a nice apartment are available. Ameland and the beautiful nature are right in front of you.
The handmade breakfast is full of love and hospitality and we will come back again many times.

Excellent B&B in northern Netherlands!

My husband and I had the privilege of going to Friesland and staying at Het Schoolhuis. The owners, Ferry and Alice, were so friendly and welcoming. We appreciated their advice about things we were planning to do in the area. We stayed in the upstairs room. It had a traditional Dutch staircase...meaning narrow, but we didn't mind. Our room was a marvel in how they had remodeled a schoolhouse from the late 1800's to a B&B. Our room had everything that we could possibly need...in a small space. Our only issue was some mosquitos that flew in the open windows (due to a recent rain). Our huge, delicious breakfast was served to us each morning in the adjoining private dining room. We loved driving around the beautiful area and seeing all the small towns. A great place to stay!

Best B&B ever!

Amazing place! Having stayed at many B&Bs in our past, we can clearly say this place outranks them all! We stayed here with our two children, who had an extra room off the master bedroom (which is huge and has a fabulous bed!). The set-up is ideal! The bathroom is modern, shower fantastic, they have two bathrobes there for you to use, a hair dryer, plenty of towels, an outdoor area with a jacuzzi ......and then the breakfast. We have never seen so much food on one table! So delicious! Fresh eggs, fruit salad, various breads, cheeses, cold cuts, pancakes, and and and. Alice and Ferry, the innkeepers, are very friendly and helpful, yet are not in your face the entire time. We had a great experience and will most certainly be back again!
