Volendam is a real Dutch postcard in reality.
Volendam is a real Dutch postcard in reality. When you come here, you feel the atmosphere of an old fishing village. Narrow streets, neat houses and a port full of traditional ships all look very alive and authentic.
It is particularly interesting to look into the harbour: you can buy fresh fish directly from the ships, and sometimes even get to the fish auction. This adds a special flavor and allows you to feel what the village used to live.
Locals sometimes put on traditional costumes and willingly pose for photographs – it looks cute and gives the feeling of being in the past.
Today Volendam is a popular tourist destination, but it has maintained its identity. Here you can not only walk along the waterfront, but also experience real Dutch culture. All in all, it's one of those places you want to go back to again to feel its comfort and atmosphere.

Complaint handling
Went to the holiday park Marinapark Volendam.
During our stay, we suffered a lot from itching and the children had a rash on their bodies. I've had email contact but am easily dismissed. I find it very bad how the complaint from Landal was handled; I expected them to resolve such things properly (I also sent photos of the result).
Apparently, this is their protocol for dealing with complaints.
Too bad.

Marinapark Volendam
We had been to Landal Marinapark Volendam before and were very satisfied back then. That is exactly why we chose this park again and looked forward to a nice and relaxing family vacation. Our disappointment with our current stay is all the greater.
Yet the park actually has the best conditions: The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The location is excellent – you can get to Amsterdam in about 20 minutes by bus. Our vacation rental was also very well equipped, and the renewed mattresses were a positive highlight.
Unfortunately, our entire vacation was massively impacted by a three-day festival right on the premises.
The noise disturbance began in the afternoon and lasted until the early morning hours. Numerous festival-goers were accommodated in the park, some heavily intoxicated, and caused significant noise and unrest even outside the actual festival grounds. Getting a restful night's sleep was almost impossible for several nights in a row.
For a family vacation, this is absolutely unreasonable and, in our eyes, unacceptable. When you book a vacation rental in a family park, you expect a certain level of quiet, especially at night. Instead, our stay felt more like a party vacation at times.
It is especially disappointing for us that we remembered the park quite differently from a previous stay. We knew that we had already been very satisfied here once before, and therefore deliberately booked again. The fact that our vacation was so impaired this time by such an event is all the more annoying.
In our opinion, an event of this magnitude with a three-day festival directly on the premises and the associated significant impact on the other guests should be clearly and unmistakably communicated at the time of booking. That way, one would have at least had the opportunity to consciously decide for or against it.
We would have wished for significantly more transparency and consideration for the vacation guests here.
Our conclusion: The park itself still has a lot to offer – friendly staff, a great location, and good amenities. Our previous experience was very positive. Under the conditions during the festival, however, we would by no means recommend Marinapark Volendam for a family vacation.
A real shame, because we came back precisely because we were so satisfied last time. This time, the massive noise pollution unfortunately impaired our vacation so severely that in the end, only disappointment remains.

Out of date Landal
No air conditioning no hear no oven. These are really very outdated houses. Also overdue maintenance. No we won't do it again

Bad
The place is fantastic, but that's all said. How filthy and what a bad soft beds. And then those terraces by the bungalows were full of weeds. Even weeds with spines, I removed them myself. Very unfortunate, we left early.
