Ovaj rustikalni pansion u blizini slikovite šume Odenwald ima prostrani vrt i lijepo održavanu terasu. Vozite se biciklom, krenite na slikovite planinarske ture ili jednostavno ne radite ništa dok uživate u čistom zraku i netaknutim vidicima.

A house with many advantages
“Zur Krone” is a traditional house including a beautiful beer garden and a successful mixture of tradition and modernization. The hotel and restaurant are located directly on a currently (August 2025) construction site-related busy road. But that is not a problem for overnight guests, especially if you have a room to the rear. Modern windows also guarantee a quiet atmosphere in the restaurant.
The rooms (26 here) are not only very spacious, but also completely renovated and modernized. They offer everything you could want for a stay. Sleeping comfort, space for clothes in closets, a sitting area, a well-furnished bathroom. No wishes remain unfulfilled.
From the welcome to the farewell, the guest experiences a pleasant atmosphere that is not artificial, but credibly lived. In this day and age, by no means a given. Here the guest is really still “king”.
The breakfast buffet on offer guarantees a successful start to the day. It leaves nothing to be desired and appeals visually as well as tastefully to the guest.
A visit to a restaurant is recommended. The menu is wide-ranging and offers a good choice for every preference. Very nice that there are many opportunities to get to know the local specialties.
The Odenwald region is always worth a visit and numerous leisure activities can be enjoyed from the location.

Good bourgeois cuisine with quality defects
Long Waiting time although not so busy.
Order incorrectly transmitted to kitchen,
no information from the waitress that you
should get the plates at the salad bar (but
unfortunately must say even if you don't get a salad you don't miss much..)
You order rump steak with roasted onions and get braised, have to ask for the side dishes although ordered etc.
Has already been there in the past, the
Service was significantly better and unfortunately must
say that the restaurant has declined significantly in quality.
At the restaurant at the lake in Bad König gets significantly more for his money and
is still greeted friendly by the boss personally!

Hotel good, food mediocre
Hotel room good, breakfast good. The restaurant: my wife's food was good. the quality of my food questionable. I had a beef fillet steak. It was so tough that I could only partially chew it. The kitchen said after my complaint that it would credit a small amount because there was a tendon in the meat. No, the whole piece was full of tendons. I don't think that was a fillet steak.

Wonderful stay!
It was my 3rd time staying there and it didn't disappoint. People are always extremely kind, helping and welcoming.
Rooms are spacious, clean, in a calm area, close to many commodities. I always have a great sleep there thanks to their great mattress!
Breakfast is very various which allows everyone to have the type they wish for: sweet or salted, choice is available.
For other meals, the menu is a real delight! My different stays allowed me to try different meals and all were wonderful. Of course it can be a bit slower some days but it's never over exaggerated, and to be honest, the atmosphere is so cosy I don't see time passing by. Plus, when the plate arrives, I always was very satisfied with the look, quality and quantity.
It's also possible to eat in your room, and it costs no extra.
If german isn't your first language or if you simply don't speak it at all, do not worry, most of the people there can use English to help you, and always a smile on their face. Many times I needed help and everyone was extremely helpful: both to understand my issue and to fix it.
The place of the hotel is perfect to wander around. It is really easy to visit towns around but also bigger cities like Frankfurt with the train close-by which allows to travel anywhere. Also, a lovely park is in the very next town, 30mn walking. A real great spot to relax near the lake!
When I go to Odenwald, I don't see myself going anywhere else than Gasthaus zur Krone and I cannot wait to go back !

The quality of the food was at best adequate. The bread for the snack platter was old, dry and tasted rubbery.
The quality of the food was at best adequate. The bread was old, dry and rubbery in consistency. The waiting time was long, we had to wait 30 minutes for a beer we ordered. The fried potatoes were nothing like fried potatoes, but were soft and sloppy. Breaded, watery mushrooms in incredible numbers simply buried the salad. The sausage salad tasted average.
The service was friendly and tried to limit the damage.
We will definitely not visit the restaurant again, although the interior and atmosphere are very nice.

es tut uns sehr leid, dass Sie gestern eine solch negative Erfahrung machen mussten und Sie so unzufrieden mit unserem Essen waren.
Wir haben das heute noch einmal besprochen und möchten uns noch einmal entschuldigen.
Das Brot hätten wir so definitiv nicht rausgeben dürfen, die mangelnde Qualität hätte uns auffallen müssen.
Das von Ihnen genannte Gericht sind unsere gebackenen Champignons an Salatgarnitur. Das Gericht ist so vorgesehen, dass die Champignons der Hauptbestandteil des Gerichts sind und der Salat nur eine kleine Garnitur am Rande.
Dass diese wässrig geschmeckt haben, tut uns unheimlich leid, da wir diese immer und so auch gestern vorher marinieren und würzen vor dem panieren.
Wir würden uns sehr freuen, von Ihnen eine zweite Chance zu erhalten und Sie noch einmal bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen.
Wenn Sie wieder reservieren, fragen Sie gerne nach mir und berufen sich auf diese Nachricht. Wir würden Sie gerne auf eine Getränkerunde einladen.
