Warm welcome, everything tip-top

I was warmly welcomed and received a card from the hotel for discounted admission to the Börde-Therme although I had only booked 1 night. My single room was large with views of the park. The room was tastefully decorated in the style of the half-timbered house. I slept well in bed and woke up feeling well. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Only the drain in the sink didn't seem to work that day. In the closet I found a warm extra blanket, fabric slippers and a sewing set.
Breakfast buffet is classic and sufficient - although not scrambled eggs or sausages, but boiled egg and cold cuts of cheese, sausage, salmon, various yogurt, cereals, various juices, fruit, tomato/cucumber, various rolls, croissants etc. On request I received a decaf coffee that was prepared especially for me.
Dinner in the on-site restaurant was delicious. I had chicken steak with pepper sauce and fries. Again very attentive and friendly staff (the waiter brought my coat to the coat hook so I could take my place immediately).
Conclusion: the whole staff is very friendly and professional. It was a nice experience. I felt comfortable and would like to come back soon.

Nice location - quiet comfortable hotel.

The hotel consists of two properties around 200 meters apart. The reception and the restaurant are in the older building (19th century) which has a number of rooms that are interesting but a bit small. The second building is modern with rooms that are large with many having balconies. We stayed in the second. At first we thought it was a bit odd that we were sent to another building with our luggage. But the modern building is very pleasant and quiet. The beds were very nice and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
The modern building is a couple hundred meters from the restaurant and the rooms do not have coffee machines or microwaves. It therefore means a bit of a walk to get your coffee in the morning. They did have appear to have a breakfast room in the building, but there were not many people staying in the hotel and it was closed. Overall, this was really minor, but it would be nice if they put in coffee machines. Breakfast was good (although not as nice as the Maritime Hotel next door where we stayed in March).

Clean, enough space

My room was clean and had enough space. The bathroom was modern and in good condition. The whole appearance suggested they had a major makeover in the sixties. Price was very OK, so I'd say you get what you pay for.
Breakfast was included. The breakfast was nice, local and common food.
Staff were very friendly.

terrible experience in the restaurant

we went there for dinner. It was 'Spargel' (Asparagus) time and we like German Spargel. What we got, was a mashy, totally overcooked, terrible piece of mashed Spargel, which we could not eat. How can this get out of the kitchen?? We just forgot about it and left. Also the service was slow and practically non existent. We waited, just to order water, more than 10 minutes, although the restaurant was not even 20% full. Two years ago, this was one of the best restaurants in the area, but since it changed owners (we were told), it is just not worth the trip anymore. So sad, to see a beautiful place coming down so fast.

Gemütliches Ambiente

An einem Adventssonntag haben wir dort zu Abend gegessen. Es war nicht zu voll und sehr gemütlich.
Speisen ausreichend und Getränke gepflegt. Freundliches Personal. Die weihnachtliche Deko sorgte für ein schönes Ambiente.
