Everything was perfect!
The hotel is furnished in a very island-typical way - from the carpets to the decoration. We had a room with a balcony. Here the bathrooms are a bit bigger than in the rooms without a balcony. The view is also very nice.
The half board is highly recommended and is good value for money. There is an extensive salad buffet, soup, for the main course you can choose between meat, fish and vegetarian and a small dessert to finish. The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired.
The suitcases are picked up at the port for a fee of €3.00.
We would love to come back!

Great dinner in the restaurant
We had dinner at the Strandburg Baltrum restaurant twice and were delighted by the modern and innovative fish and game cuisine. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Ideal location on the island, great food in the restaurant / beste Location auf der Insel, tolles Essen
Strandburg is just 100 m of the main beach access, conveniently situated between the 2 main parts of the island's settlement, Westdorf with the ferry pier, shops and restaurants and Ostdorf with direct access to the nature reserve and wild part of the beach. The rooms are nice, sauna is free, the breakfast buffet extensive, service friendly. The food in the restaurant (we ordered à la carte) is phantastic, huge portions and a lot of game (venison, island ducks and rabbits...) on the menu in addition to fish and meat - this is the only restaurant on the island with this much game from their own hunting concession

Nice, uncomplicated island hotel.
Stayed in the Strandburg for one night during an island trip by plane. The stay started with a friendly welcome by the owner and a quick check-in. I had a double room booked, which was spacious enough and quiet (unfortunately without a balcony).
Room and property was clean and spotless. Breakfast was good in terms of choices, quantity and quality.
For international travelers, there are two basic things that need to be improved: The expensive WLAN access is definitive not state of the art anymore - also on an island. The same applies for the non-acceptance of credit cards or foreign bank cards. So, when traveling and not holding a German 'EC-card', make sure to bring enough cash.
Room and property was clean and spotless. Breakfast was good in terms of choices, quantity and quality.

Kaserne oder Hotel?
Das Personal des Hotels ist recht freundlich. Der Chef meint aber er sei Kommandant einer Kaserne! Er hat leider keinerlei Verständnis was sich Gäste für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt wünschen. Wir hatten ein Seminar im Hotel und er forderte uns in befehlerischem Ton auf, dass wir während die Woche die Plätze im Restaurant nicht wechseln dürfen. Die Rezeption war selten bedient. Zahlen kann man auch nur Bar und immer vor zu. Der Chef hat nicht gerne wenn man etwas aufs Zimmer schreibt....

Lieber Gast unseres Hauses,
vielen Dank, dass Sie uns Ihr Feedback gegeben haben. Sie waren Teil einer Gruppe von 15 Personen, die einen Seminaraufenthalt mit Halbpension gebucht hatten. Wir bieten unsere Halbpension immer mit einer Menüwahl an, d. h. Sie konnten jeden Tag aus 3 unterschiedlichen Hauptgerichten auswählen. Die Menüwahl findet immer pro Tisch und Person statt, an dem Sie abends sitzen für den Folgetag. So stellt unsere Küche dann am nächsten Tag auch das Essen zusammen, darüber hinaus wird auch auf besondere Ernährungsumstände Rücksicht genommen. Um Ihnen einen optimalen Service zu bieten habe ich in meiner Begrüßung Ihrer Gruppe, darauf hingewiesen, dass es von Vorteil ist, die einmal eingenommenen Tische beizubehalten, damit jeder sein bestelltes Essen bekommt und nicht suchend von Tisch zu Tisch laufen muss, bis er sein spezielles Essen findet. Daran haben Sie sich nicht gehalten und sind Ihrer Individualität gefolgt, mit der Folge, dass Sie Ihr Essen an anderen Tischen suchen mussten.
Zur Bezahlung: Wir akzeptieren Bargeld und EC-Karten der Europäischen Union in unserem Hotel. Sie kamen aus der Schweiz und konnten daher nur mit Bargeld bezahlen.
Unsere Rezeption ist von 9 - 13 Uhr besetzt mit einer Mittagspause von 11.30 bis 12.00 Uhr. Darüber hinaus sind wir ab 17.00 Uhr immer im Restaurant ansprechbar.
Als Gruppe saßen Sie teilweise zu 6 Personen an einem Tisch, d. h. 6 unterschiedliche Zimmer und das auch in wechselnden Zusammenstellungen. Da ist es schwierig für meine Mitarbeiter den Überblick zu behalten und es ist für beide Seiten transparenter, wenn keine Zimmerbuchen erfolgen, sondern der jeweilige Abend direkt abgerechnet wird.
