Don’t get me wrong, despite the three star review I would stay there again. The room (double) was large and light. The location was excellent, LOTS of shops, restaurants and public transport within seconds of the hotel.
Noise was ok, it’s on a main road so you get traffic and people noise - for me that was part of the charm. I was on the top floor so the view was really cool and despite the weather being very warm, the room felt fine.
The reason for the low stars is twofold.
1. The staff were the unfriendliest I’ve come across in a hotel. I didn’t have any problems, but I suspect of I had, they would have rolled their eyes and definitely not apologised.
2. The building has the quaint 1980s German “functional quality rather than recently updated” vibe. Now I quite like this, but I can imagine some people finding it dirty and old looking. So just be aware of your personal taste.

The hotel is cold.

I am extremely disappointed with this hotel. With an outside temperature of only 6 degrees, the heating in the room did not work. Instead of helping us, the staff was rude and completely uncooperative. I became ill from the cold after just one night. I have never experienced such disrespectful behavior towards guests. Hygiene and service are inadequate. Avoid this hotel!
