I spent a night in June at The Posthouse. I chose the hotel because it is right next to the Tempodrom, is quite new, and does not have carpeted floors in the room. The check-in was quick and friendly, and I was then able to go to my room. I found it quite stylish at first glance, with a large shower, high walls, and a big comfortable bed. As a solo traveler, the superior double room was sufficient, but it would be cramped for two. On one hand, there is not enough space for a second suitcase, and on the other hand, there is generally a lack of storage space in the bathroom. The hotel itself had only been open for a good year at the time of my visit, but the threshold to the bathroom was broken, the faucet was very scratched, and the carpet in the hallway had unsightly stains. My room faced the street and was still quiet for a city; the air conditioning worked somewhat sluggishly. I was not impressed with the breakfast. Coffee is only available for self-service from the machine, so there are no oat alternatives; the orange juice was a nectar, and the cut fruit included watermelon and a fruit salad. There were no berries for muesli, and I was quite sure that the scrambled eggs were made from powder and not fresh eggs, and fish, etc., were left unrefrigerated at the buffet. For a nightly rate of over €200 in a 4-star hotel, I expected more in terms of the quality of the furnishings and the breakfast food; the €28 charged for breakfast is far too much.

The room was clean and the bathroom had a shower only, which was fine as it met our needs.
The breakfast was very good offering a full english and continental breakfast. We had a few drinks in the bar, and although they offered cocktails, just order them after 1700 when the barman arrives.
Staff in itself were friendly, helpful and able to answer questions.
The walk into town was approximately 30 to 45 mins, at a leisurely pace. Overall the hotel was great with friendly staff, great size room, and offered a good offering of choices for breakfast.

All perfect bar one little "hiccup"

Very little to complain about - beautifully furnished hotel, excellent location, nice reception staff.
There were, however, a few issues.
For one, the tea-making facilities appeared to have been rationed, as were the toiletries. We had to request their replenishment several times throughout our stay.
Our biggest issue was the bottle of beer which was kindly left in our room as a welcome gift. As we arrived very late, we put the bottle in the fridge for the next evening. When we returned to our room after sightseeing the next day, we found that the bottle had vanished. We presumed that this was a simple case of German efficiency.
We decided that it was still worth mentioning to the reception staff, as we thought that it was a little strange that the beer was a limited time only deal.
The receptionist informed us that this was not hotel policy and that, if we wanted, we could pick up another bottle from them at a later time.
I feel that this entirely missed the point. Why had somebody entered our room and taken the beer from the fridge? It made us feel somewhat uneasy about the safety of our belongings.
The fact that it was just a bottle of beer was immaterial - it was the principle of the fact that we were concerned about our property when we shouldn't have had to be, and that the reception staff didn't seem unduly worried.

Despite heat can be easily held thanks to hotel

Very good hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Very spacious rooms. It was very hot ( 35+) at the weekend but because of this excellent hotel it was good to endure.
