Cosy, friendly, good location

We stayed with three families over the testimonial holidays in the hostel and very satisfied. The breakfast buffet was great, very lovingly prepared and there was a diverse offer.
The self-catering kitchen is large and well equipped. - In the evening, the breakfast room can be used for dinner and games.
The house is old. However, the rooms are renovated and comfortably furnished.
We - except for a ski cellar perhaps - lacked nothing.

Unreasonable condition - immediate departure

We arrived as a group to ski but had to leave the hotel after 1–2 hours as the condition was unacceptable.
The hotel is extremely run-down: loosening wallpaper, water stains on ceilings and walls, dirty rooms, mold, holes in the walls and overall a very unkempt impression. The attempts at refurbishment look needy and laymanlike. Windows are leaking, the heating is bubbling, everything is outdated and absolutely out of date.
Of particular concern: smoke detectors and escape plans were sometimes missing in the rooms as well as fire extinguishers in the hallways – a serious safety risk in our view.
Despite discussion with the owner, we did not get the entire amount refunded. Since there were no alternatives spontaneously over New Year's Eve, the holiday was completely ruined.
Very disappointing and definitely not a recommendation.

Never again

We had a suite with 3 rooms, located at the end of the house with entrance from level. The rooms smelled of mold and there were traces of moisture in several places at the bottom of the walls, a little tired hostel. The breakfast cost €8 per day, the first days with delicious hot rolls, afterwards there was only flütes and the offer got worse and worse. Would not recommend the place. Braunlage is a boring town.

Haus B gute Lage, Zimmer dreckig!

Wir haben längere Zeit im Haus B des Hostels gewohnt. Ws gibt mehrere Häuser. Die Lage ist ruhig an einem Bach gelegen. Kostenlose Parkplätze gibt es auch. Das Haus B macht einen modernen Eindruck. Leider war der Teppich in unserem Zimmer voller langer Haare. Der staubsauger der vom Personal genutzt wird (haben wir selbst gesehen und auch benutzt), ist für eine Hotelreinigung nicht geeignet! Das Bad war modern und Sauber. Leider war das Zimmer für 2 Personen etwas zu klein. Es gab keine richtigen Sitzmöglichkeiten im Zimmer und die Matratzen sind durchgelegen. Im Aussenbereich gibt es einen Sandkasten für Kinder und überdachte Sitzmöglichkeiten. Als Ausgangsort für Spaziergänge und Wanderungen in die Umgebung ist das Haus B gut geeignet! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Kreditkarten werden akzeptiert!

Einfach,günstig,sauber, unkompliziert

Wer ein günstiges, sauberes unkompliziertes Hostel/ Hotel in guter Lage in Braunlage sucht, macht hier nichts falsch. Wir hatten im Hostel-Gebäude ein renoviertes DZ. Wir waren lediglich zum Schlafen vor Ort, daher können wir zu sonstigen Leistungen, Essen etc. nichts sagen.
