Great home base for local sightseeing and visiting.

Great value first and foremost. Older hotel with basic rooms but clean and well maintained. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Great continental breakfast available at a very good price. Dinner available at restaurant with local specialties. Many rooms have a view of the castle Teck at the top of the hill. An elevator is available. Showers are a little tight but manageable. The small town of Dettingen unter Teck has a variety of shopping including many antique stores. Located centrally, 15 to 30 minute drive to castles and museums. About 45 minute drive to Mercedes Benz or Porsche museums or downtown Stuttgart.
Ausgezeichneter Wert für dieses Hotel. Einfach aber sauber und praktisch. Hotelbesitzer sind sehr freundlich. Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück jeden Morgen. Zentraler Ausgangspunkt für Schwäbische Alb oder kurz Reisen nach Stuttgart oder Metzingen zum Beispiel.

Not a good place

Totally outdated. Dark and old. Very meager breakfast with thin coffee. Better take the bus and spend the night in Kirchheim...

Pretty outdated hotel but good location

It is a somewhat outdated hotel but the price might be towards that too.
The restaurant was closed, which was not mentioned anywhere else. Also not mentioned when we booked. Fortunately we could go across the street (Pizzaria), but they could have mentioned it in advance.
The rooms are very dated but everything worked fine (shower also got well hot). There is WiFi available but it did not work upstairs.
I thought it was quite dark and it could use a refresher. There were few guests as far as I could see, the welcome was quite customer friendly because (the owner?) was already waiting for us. There was little else to discuss, I didn’t find the coziness radiating from it myself.
The breakfast was otherwise good and quite extensive. The coffee was poured for you.
The hotel is fairly easy to reach from the motorway. For a through trip I think it will do just fine.

Clean outdated…

Back to the future.
The hotel takes you back to the 60s so for people who like that it’s great.
Very basic comfort. Beds are small and hard.
It looks very outdated and the terras is in hazardous condition.
The shower and rooms are very basic.
No shampoo nor badly soap.
To their advantage I must admit rooms are tidy, shower has hot water even though carpets are loosening up etc…
We were the only guests in the weekend and it’s obvious why…

Very calm hotel

We were in trip at the end of the day from Munich to Stuttgart and we decided to stay in this hotel for one night and continue by the morning. Good choice. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food were very tradicional. The breakfast were varied. It is located in a very calm and quiet zone. The staff are very friendly.
