Cheep and tied

The hotel is located in the forest at Unterbach. It is about 30 minutes bus ride from the main train station on the 737 bus get of at kickwig. In the morning the busses always seem to run late due to congestion. You can get to the airport on another bus (721, change at the station) and that takes about another 35 mts. The hotel will give you a card for free transport on all local busses and trains.
Breakfast is 6 euro and is Ok. There is a very nice traditional German restaurant next door we ate there twice and the food was very good, cost about 60 euro for two with two courses.
The hotel is tied and the decor not good. We paid 70 euro and that was cheap for the area. We were visiting a trade fare and every thing was booked out and a lot more expensive, so we didn’t have much choice
Use this as a last resort the place is old and tired but clean and the staff are helpful. The very steep staircase to the rooms did not help.

Above Average hotel amidst beautiful woods

The hotel was comfortable with a decent hospitability and in the midst of beautiful woods. The stay is worth in a good weather as you can appreciate nature. It is quite away from center. However the bus stop is 200 m from the hotel and the hotel provides with transport tickets. There are no cafes or restaurants nearby (so not a good option if travelling with kids), but I did see some home delivery options The breakfast was too basic for 7 euros. It is good for couples who love to stay close to nature and away from hustle bustle of city. I could say it was value for money

Even though cheap, not worth it

I stayed for 2 nights in a single room. Even though it was only 30 euros per night, I will not go back. Lots of dust & spiderwebs, curtains too small to cover the windows and you can hear people on the hallway or in neighboring rooms really loud. Receptionists did not speak any English.
